Leading up to Saturday’s bout, Bader noted that Johnson had run into problems in the past, while facing fellow wrestlers like Josh Koscheck and Daniel Cormier. Bader’s coach, Aaron Simpson, also reportedly questioned the mental toughness of Johnson.
Well, after Johnson’s quick, KO win, the light-heavyweight said this (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“They brainwashed him to make him think I was actually mentally weak,” Johnson said . “That’s fine with me. I won. To me, who’s the weak one?”
The win means that Johnson will get another crack at the 205 title, as he’ll face the winner of Cormier – Jon Jones II. Johnson faced Cormier last May for the vacant championship but was submitted by “DC”.
