Conor McGregor at 170? Robbie Lawler’s Not Worried About “What-Ifs”

Robbie Lawler

Recently Conor McGregor’s even been talking about making a run at 170 pounds, but if Robbie Lawler is excited and or concerned about it, the welterweight champ isn’t showing it.

As you know, McGregor is set to move up to 155 and face the lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 197. “Notorious” still has a belt to defend at 145 pounds, but he’s also been talking about fighting two weight classes above that.

Well, recently Lawler was asked for his thoughts on McGregor’s plans, and “Ruthless” stated (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I don’t really get excited,”

“It’s just how I am. Nothing really gets me riled up too much. I just concentrate on myself. A lot of things could happen; everyone knows that. So I can’t concentrate on all these what-ifs because these what-ifs might never happen, and then I’ve wasted my time. So there you go.”

Fair enough. Lawler is coming off a split decision win over Carlos Condit at UFC 195.
