If you’ve been planning a Luke Rockhold – Vitor Belfort II extravaganza, well, you may want to put that on hold.
As you likely know, since Rockhold took the middleweight title from Chris Weidman last month, there had been talk about him fighting Belfort again. Especially since Yoel Romero was recently notified of a potential anti-doping violation.
Rockhold has always said he wants to face Belfort again, but since the latter had a title shot in May, and was stopped by Weidman, clearly the UFC didn’t want to go that route yet.
So, one could conclude that the UFC is considering granted Weidman another bout with Rockhold. Or, could they be waiting to see if Anderson Silva gets by Michael Bisping next month?
