After sitting out for most of 2015, Hector Lombard finally has his next fight booked, and it will be against one of the welterweight division’s best.
As you likely recall, Lombard has been sidelined due to a year long suspension he picked up, following his decision win over Josh Burkman last January. Following the fight “Showeather” tested positive for PEDs and the fight was overturned to a no-contest. Lombard was coming off wins over Jake Shields and Nate Marquardt heading into the fight.
Magny, meanwhile, continues to be one of the UFC’s busiest fighters. The welterweight scrapped five times in 2015 and went 4-1. Most recently in November he earned a split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum.
So, that’s an interesting addition to UFC FN 84, which will be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Frank Mir and Mark Hunt.
