“UFC: Primetime” Returns in March Featuring St-Pierre vs. Hardy
PRESS RELEASE — In anticipation of their world welterweight title clash at UFC 111: ST-PIERRE vs. HARDY, UFC champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Dan Hardy will be featured on UFC Primetime, a weekly, three part series premiering Wednesday, March 10 at 10:00 PM ET/PT on Spike TV.
UFC Primetime, produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), is a look into the lives of perhaps the world’s best pound for pound fighter, St-Pierre, and Hardy, the man looking to unseat him at the top of the welterweight ladder. As the two prepare for their meeting in late March, Spike TV will present three special weekly installments that will take viewers across the pond to Nottingham, England as Hardy trains with the rest of his Rough House team, and back to North America to Montreal to see how St-Pierre, one of the most beloved athletes in Canada, is preparing for his title defense. UFC Primetime delivers an extraordinary amount of access to two of mixed martial arts’ best, as they head into what could be the signature fight of 2010 at UFC 111.

Glad to see this returning, I’d thought that maybe they’d done away with this, like they did that UFC/Joe Rogan talk show thing they had in ’08…
Nice, but really? The best Primetime they could come up with is the squash-match known as GSP vs Hardy? Silva vs Belfort, Mir vs Carwin, Shogun vs Machida II, or even Rashad vs Rampage would have been much better choices IMO.
Perhaps they are planning on doing more of these, time will tell, and Hardy is a shhit talking machine so atleast someone can try and top Penn’s quote to Firas Zahabi from the last show…
Agreed.
I know Hardy’s supporters will dispute catagorizing their boy’s chances agains the Greatness as a “squash”, but I’m sure they’ll get over their disappointment post-111, just like supporters of every other 170er to step in against GSP have had to do.
While Machida and Rua might be problematic due to language issues, I would think that a Primetime featuring the sh!t-talking Frank Mir and the respectful Shane Carwin would make for great MMA TV…
SERRA~EFFECT!!!
Mir is very respectful and a class act. He has said only good things about Carwin. All he does is speak the truth when asked. I appreciate his honesty. He also knows that this is a business in selling fights like most other fighters do.
I hear ya Diablo, I think Shogun vs. Machida would of been cool. Maybe everybody liked how cool GSP looked in the GSP vs. Penn II. Haha, there is a part where they show GSP walking into a club, its all in slow motion with some Hip-Hop music in the background…GANGSTA!
I guaran-damn-tee you that GSP’s Primetime access for this one will be an almost carbon-copy of the last one.
Haha, skip to 2:50 —-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBOUF88Fsvc
GSP needs to get back in gym and how about he defends his belt, hell just fight once and awhile how about that
@ fr702 – I’m pretty sure GSP picked up that “not defending his title” too often thing from your boy Anderson Silva…
:P
hahahahahahahaha no! Jcohl don’t hate success :P …… I tried to troll or whatever the kids call it now adays and it didn’t work
We’ve already seen the Rampage-Rashad hype machine in action. It worked out last time didn’t it.
As for the for the whole squash-match refferance, remeber Matt Serra?.
I actually think this will be great for the UFC and for the event. As FR pointed out, Hardy is a $hit talking machine who happens to be pretty hilarious @ times imo and it’s just another excuse to give more TV face time to the walking example of what mma hopfully continues to strive to be. And that’s Georges “Rush” St Pierre. All around person/athlete/fighter and some what of an entrepreneur. It is he who helped the ufc get to canada no? He is an excellent person to watch if your casual fan. Both talented and “role model” wise.
Hardy has become a fighter i enjoy watching and listening to, but he’s facing my boy GSP and I honestly doubt hardy is ready for a shot at one of the best in the world.
Did anyone notice after he decisioned swick, when GSP entered the ring, that hardy couldn’t even look at him? There is also this article

from gsp that could have hardy as the one being mind fu*ked before the fight. GSP VIA domination!
Hahaha i noticed that too man. The oh chit i just chit my pants look he gave gsp was priceless hahahaha.
But really hardy on primetime? I would have thought Alves or Fitch would have been a better choice considering this was his greatest competition at the time. But hey who am i to say what choices Zuffa should make. They’re the ones who took a bankrupt company and turned it into the greatest sport in the world
Brent,
Yeah dude he couldn’t even look at GSP!
I think alves fitch would have been kool too dude!
Personally I think this is the best place the UFC could start for bringing this back. Sure there is more high fights they could have chosen with two fighters of a higher profile in the public eye already.. but Vitor has been introduced via vBlogs and the other fighters already have a big fan base.. this way.. win or loose,, Dan Hardy is going to be an MMA household commodity they will be able to see in the future – even if in the end he ends up being a high-profile can they can keep in their pocket.
If he ends up successful, either in the title fight or after, they are covered already by increasing his fan base, thusly his PPV draw.
matt serra lucky punch blah blah, gsp is not superhuman and is now expected to crush hardy, i think gsp is a great fighter but people talk as if theres no point anyone fighting him, and ask for previous comments i doubt very much that the outlaw is scared of gsp. once hardy tags him good i see hardy stoping gsp similar to serra with less loopy punches. NO ONE is unbeatable. Hardy for the upset WAR OUTLAW
