Former middleweight contender Yushin Okami will likely return to action against Lucio Linhares at UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31 in North Carolina, according to MMAjunkie.
An exact location and venue have yet to be determined for the Spike-televised event, which serves as the lead-in for the debut of The Ultimate Fighter 11.
Okami (23-5) began his UFC career with a 7-1 mark, losing only to former champion Rich Franklin while picking up wins over the likes of Mike Swick, Jason MacDonald, and Evan Tanner, but his frequent decision wins delayed a shot at champion Anderson Silva, who he defeated by DQ in early-2006. “Thunder” was removed from immediate contention with a loss to Chael Sonnen in October in his most-recent fight.
Linhares (13-5), an M-1 veteran, made his UFC debut in December, suffering a second-round submission to Rousimar Palhares at UFC 107.
UFC Fight Night 21 is also expected to include The Ultimate Fighter 10 winner Roy Nelson vs. Stefan Struve and Nate Quarry vs. Jorge Rivera.
