    Wow.
All I can think is that Alexander must be spending so much time raising his 6 kids on his own, and trying to maintain his strong “Scrib” presence in the Omaha underground hip hop scene, that it leaves him little time to work on his MMA game.
The guy seems alright to me, so I wish him well in whatever ventures he chooses to pursue…

Dude I used to see Houston all the time around Omaha. Not once did I see him with his kids. Everybody keeps talking about his kids, his kids… the guys is not a very smart fighter! Tough? Maybe. Strong? Certainly. Smart? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

He’s not included in this post, but I was bummed that Justin McCorkle lost as well.

Looks like Alexander should probably find a new venture in which to feed his children, because this fighting thing is working out too great.

Glad to see Boetsch, Horn and Clementi get Ws.

      Truth on Alexander.
By all accounts the guy is a solid citizen, but the MMA gig just isn’t going to pay like it used to.

Hey, just trying to sift thru the stories coming out of this card, but did No Love win the 5150 Combat League’s 155 belt Saturday night?

And seeing Horn secure another sub victory always makes me smile…

While I’m always a fan of someone with a nickname as great as “The Mexicutioner”, it’s sad that a man as great as Houston seems to have fought his last fight.

man it looks like brad imes needs to call it quits… everytime i see him fight he loses

    • jcohl says:

      Fair point.
Since January of last year, Imes is 2-4, with 3 of those 4 losses coming by a$$-beating.
Not to kick the guy when he’s down, but he isn’t exactly fighting top shelf HW competition, and it should be noted that one of those TKO losses came at the gnarled and aging hands of Patrick Smith, a convicted child molester [as per Wikipedia] and 46 year old kickboxer who’s first UFC fight was at UFC 1, where he got heel hooked by Ken Shamrock.

I’m sure Imes has bills to pay, and family and friends to look after. But getting TKO’ed 30 seconds into the first round by a guy almost old enough to be your dad should send up some sort of warning flag that maybe you’re in the wrong line of work…

Horn just doesn’t stop, he’s 4-0 since his loosing stint in the UFC ……… just keeps fighting and fighting !

  • Brian Imes says:

It was Brian Imes who fought on Saturday. He is 5-4 as a professional in 1 1/2 years of competition. Brad is Brian’s older brother. Brian owns a company called Hillbilly Fight Wear with their sister, Annie. For more information visit HillbillyFightWear.com Brad’s last fight was in September of ’09. He is now a proud member of the Jefferson City, Missouri Fire Department.

Glad to see Monson get a win. Met him at a wedding last year and really enjoyed chatting with him. Seemed like a very friendly guy.

That’s why the UFC kicked Alexander out. His work ethic went south. In case anyone is unaware of this: 5150 is what we call nuts (psych cases).

Clementi finally gets more credit for his game. His fights are enjoyable to watch.

Back to Alexander: to get paid what he was getting paid, and to dance around (literally) the Octagon for 15 minutes, was an injustice to the fans and management of the UFC. What he did was known as flossing. He did not earn his keep, but according to most, the UFC got off easy. Never again will they pay this guy for cheating them out of a decent fight. If you watched that Kimbo Slice/Alexander fight, you’d probably feel a little let down. At the end, he bent over holding on to his knees. For what? Dancing? An act: to pretend he just put in 15 minutes of effort. What he probably didn’t realize is we were watching. I never wish to see him fight again. One big flosser.
