Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez recently underwent successful knee surgery and will be back to 100% in a couple months.- Toby Imada, who garnered “Submission of the Year” honors for his inverted triangle choke of Jorge Masvidal last May at Bellator 5, will rematch Masvidal on April 8 in the opening round of Bellator’s second lightweight tournament.
- Bellator’s upcoming featherweight tournament is taking shape, with Bao Quach, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire, Georgi “Insane” Karakhanyan, and William Romero now confirmed for the eight-man, 145-pound tourney.

I’ve got to believe that Masvidal has worked on his submission defense since catching the wrong end of a “highlight of the year” mention…but honestly, how could anyone prepare a defense for an inverted triangle choke?
I so want to see this rematch. Fantastic the first time. Just wish I could see it live again.
Exactly jcohl, however Imada says he catches people in it in training alot so he must have it perfected, Imagine if it ended the same way lol
I’d like to see the rematch occur in the semi-finals or finals, not in the first round. We already know what these two are capable of. To see one or the other eliminated in the first round is like stacking the deck…
