Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Likely for Upcoming UFC Event
Former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin is likely to fight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the near future, according to Fighters Only, which reports that the matchup is expected to take place “sooner rather than later”.
Nogueuria is expected to be able to return in March or April after suffering a broken ankle in December, which forced him to withdraw from a February bout against Brandon Vera.
After losing his title to Rashad Evans in December 2008 and suffering a first-round knockout to Anderson Silva in August, Griffin (17-6), the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 1, rebounded in November with a split decision win over Tito Ortiz.
Nogueira (18-3), a PRIDE and Affliction veteran, made his UFC debut in November with a first-round knockout of Luiz Cane, his sixth-straight win.

i think forrests ground game is good enough to not get submited. forrests standup is going to win him a another decision, and stop all the lil nog hype.
Yah Forrest always bring a great game plan.. I too think he will be able to stay out of trouble on the ground long enough so that even if it goes to the ground it will be late and he can survive and he’ll batter lil’nog enough that he’ll have him dead tired by the third and he can catch him or win on points.
People underestimate Forrest’s ground game sometimes, i think the fight will mostly be standing and it will be another fight where Forrest stays aggressive enough to pull out a decision win
little nog has been in the pan am world games and won(in boxing) has trained with the cuban oympic team,he whooped overeem TWICE,outstruck henderson,had a stand up war with sh ogun rua(only one of 2 guys to knock shogun off his feet) and trains with big nog who say his brother is better on the feet(most people who have actually seen little nog fight agree) what the hell has forrest ever done on his feet?!! oh,yeah he tkoed sinosac-whoopty f***** do.and everyone knows what he can do on the ground. why do peoople believe the hype on forrest?!!

I cant see forrest winning this fight. I believe little nogs boxing is to crisp for forrest and not to mention he trains with the last guys who beat him. I think lil nog will come in with a great game plan and get the tko victory in the second round
just bc he trains with a guy who beat him doesnt mean he can do the same lil nog has not even close to the same skills as silva on the feet so you cant say that
Wow! definately a better match up for Rodrigo. Forrest will put on a better performance than Vera(no offense but Vera is not very entertaining to watch as of late). Rodrigo winner by ko because he definately has better stand up.imo

A lot of you seem to have given up on Vera, the guy put up an awesome fight against Coture and almost edged out a decision against him. I think it was a better matchup than Griffin stylisticly and see Griffin getting KO’d in this one

I’m not sure where it will end up, Montreal is a pretty strong card already, though. Machida v. Shogun 2, Rampage v. Rashad, Kos v. Daley, Kimbo v. Mitrione. They need to put a little bit lesser known fighter on that card so that they can get some attention, not Forrest v. Lil Nog.
My point was, I hope this fight comes to NC on 3/31 (UFN 21), so I can see it live.

well, nog has good stand up and forrest should be able to throw with him forrest wont get submitted. the nogs arent as good as everyone says they are. i like forrest hes been my favorite fighter ever since the ultimate fighter i think he will win another desision or tko in the first.
The Spider def opened up the word to Forrest’s weaknesses, he can’t handle a fighter who has speed in his hands. Nogueria has awesome BJJ if you think Forrest is better at him than that your def going to be wrong. The only was Forrest is going to win this fight is by a decision and fighting really passively. Otherwise its going to be a win for Lil Nog. I’m going to say Nog by decision though.
Forrest getting KTFO! wont be crying out the ring this time i bet… this reminds me of Wandy vs Bisping… weither its standing, on the ground or descion.. no chance in winning.. keep the stretcher close cuz its gonna be quick.. So many hater and forrest doubters out here. forrest boxing is well above average and his muay thai is very good. bjj is underated. i think everyone underestimates him cuz he’s fighting a “NOG”. Rogerio is a great fighter but forrest thrives on being the underdog in his carrer. forrest via tko 2nd or 3rnd.
