The Ultimate Fighter 6: Week 2 Ratings Drop
The ratings are in for the second week of The Ultimate Fighter 6. The second episode drew just a 1.0 rating compared to the 1.5 rating the show obtained last week. The bad news didn’t stop there:
The show saw similar decreases across the board in its key demographics.
In the 18-to-34-year-old male demographic, this week’s episode posted a rating of 1.4, compared to episode one’s 1.9 rating.
In the 18-to-49-year-old male demographic, episode one premiered to a 1.7 rating, while episode two was down to a 1.1 rating.
Season six’s two-week average of a 1.2 overall rating is down from season five’s 1.4 average at the same point.

I think this season has the potential to be one of the best, what I have seen so far has been great viewing and one of the funniest moments so far has been Matt Hughes giving Bible Classes. Also I have changed my view on Matt Serra having thought he was a Big mouth NYorker I am warming to him as he is coming across as a genuine Guy who will do all he can for his team………..
Mr. T, I am not sure why you seem to think that Serra is genuine and will do all he can for his team. Look at how he is treating his “friend” Joey. He is applying fear to his team, not leadership. I think Serra is going to make this season exciting with his temper, smack talk and way of doing things. Hughes is definitely applying leadership. He took responsibility for Dorian not doing so well in his fight. That is what leaders do. Serra blamed Joey for losing his fight saying that he gave up and found a way out. Also, the bible session was not all that bad. I think what Hughes did was courageous. Not that many people with any type of popular status share their faith like he did.
I agree that Serra is acting like a dink. I would much rather have Hughes for a coach because he is a true leader. I don’t agree or disagree with his “Bible Studys”. I just think he turned some people off by it. I also think his asking the fighters to figure out who he is in the story was one of the most EGOTISICAL things I’ve ever seen. But everybody knows he is an egomaniac. I could care less about that, he’s a great coach, and a great fighter, and he takes responsibillity for his teams actions. I think Hughes’ team will be overall more successfull than Serra’s.
I love the show, I have seen every episode from Season 1 through now. However, I think they need to add a little something to it… Its really redundant right now. I think next season they should bring back the competitions that they used to have along with mixing in another weight class as well. I would love to see Heavyweights on there again.
Just a thought – How about doing a Season on American Fighters VS. Non-American?? That would be good TV, you would be bringing in a whole other audience. People would like to watch fighters from their country’s fight.
From the two episodes that I have watched; I have enjoyed the season so far. Instead of TNA Impact running from 9 to 11, I think if TNA Wrestling was on from 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M., then it would get more ratings if Ultimate Fighter was on at 10 P.M. after TNA Impact. The people that would watch TNA Impact would more than likely then tune into The Ultimate Fighter after wrestling finishes.
I agree with Mr. T that they need to freshin up the show some how. I have also enjoyed all of the seasons, and think this could be one of the best. I don’t want the ratings to drop much more for fear of it being cancelled. I really liked the idea behind last season’s “re-vitalize your carrier” format. It obviousely worked really well for Matt Serra’s carrier. Hopefully Zuffa figures it out. I consider them marketing geniuses, so they should be able to fix it.
Serra gives every impression of being a complete dunce. He and his limp-wristed associate Joey are about as grating on the ears and nerves as they come. I loved how he called everyone in the gym together to let them know what a **** Joey was and that he was kicking him off the team. Then, when he confronts him, he’s like “it’s cool – no problemo.” Definitely high marks in the leadership and credibility departments there!
Personally, I think an excellent way to end the TUF season is to televise Joey being ass raped and then subsequently stomped into hamburger by a gigantic, and particularly ferocious, African rhinoceros. There’s been no one more deserving in the history of TUF.
Perhaps Dana could give him his much desired penis pump and phone call home before the rhino gets down to business just for the human interest angle.
Highly amusing!! I took my daughter to the zoo the other day, and I think I found just the Rhino. I think they should put a penis pump on the rhino first, just so it is extra pleasurable for Joe ” the MO ” Scarrola. Also, put a ribbed rubber on the rhino (inside out, for the rhinos pleasure) so he doesn’t catch watever disease Joey and Serra haved communicated between each other.
There has been some great and amusing comments on this subject, like I have said in one of my previous posts I think this season has the potential to be one of the best, Hughes in my opinion is a seasoned pro and has been there done that so to speak, and deserves the respect that he should get from all these young guys trying to make a name for themselves within the sport, I do think Serra who I really didnt like, is trying to be there for his fighters and has there best interests at heart, but I will pick up on a point MrEd raised when it came down to kicking his fellow team mate and friend off the show “Joey” he did indeed back down, which I do think proved that he hasnt got true leadership qualities.
