UFC on FOX 17: Rafael dos Anjos Makes Short Work of Donald Cerrone

Rafael dos Anjos

If the UFC was thinking about moving forward with a lightweight title fight between Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone, well, Rafael dos Anjos has violently ended those plans.

The lightweight champ came out firing heavy shots in the UFC on FOX 17 headliner, and quickly cracked Cerrone with a left hand, knee and a body kick. As Cerrone struggled to recover, dos Anjos kept firing in punches, and the fight was stopped at the 1:06 mark.

Following his latest, jaw dropping and impressive win, dos Anjos relayed to Conor McGregor that he’ll be waiting for the featherweight champ if he moves to 155.

In the co-headliner, Alistair Overeem took a big step into the heavyweight title shot mix, by stopping Junior dos Santos. Overeem dropped JDS in round two, and after he followed up with punches the fight was called off.
