Kendall Grove vs. Mark Munoz Possible for UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi
Kendall Grove, who announced on Tuesday that he’d next fight at UFC 112, is expected to fight fellow middleweight Mark Munoz at the April 10 in Abu Dhabi, as MMAjunkie reported today that the bout is in the works and at least one fighter has agreed to the contest.
Grove (11-6) went 4-2 after winning The Ultimate Fighter 3 in 2006, including victories over Alan Belcher, Evan Tanner, and Jason Day, before dropping a unanimous decision to Ricardo Almeida last August. “Da Spyder” bounced back in his most-recent fight, submitting Jake Rosholt in the opening-round in November at UFC 106.
Munoz (7-1), a former WEC light heavyweight, was knocked out in the first-round by Matt Hamill in his UFC debut last March, but has since rebounded with wins over Nick Catone in August and Ryan Jensen earlier this month.
UFC 112 has yet to be announced, but is shaping up to feature a stacked card that includes lightweight champ BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar, middleweight title-holder Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort, and Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie.

I got munoz winning this fight. I can’t see Kendall Stuffing the take down Munoz take downs and i dont think his Bjj can handle his top game. I got Munoz Gnp Tko in round 1
Yeah bad grammer on that one sorry guys
I think Kendall could sub him or control him if he got him in his guard! Also Kendall will have alot of trouble stuffing the takedown because, Munoz is very compact, is an elite wrestler and if he catch anything he will just drag him to the ground. Obvious Kendall would destroy him in the stand up, too rangy.
Good points guys. I agree if grove doesn’t stop the take down he’s in for a long night.
This is going to be a sick card dude.
Rosholt was quite the accomplished wrestler as well. Just cuz you get Grove down you haven’t won the fight. Munoz definitely has been improving a lot and I think he will win, if he does what he does best, ground and pound, ground and pound, ground and pound.
I got Munoz with a first round tko in this one. He’s improved a lot since the Matt Hamill fight and has been training with the real Spider at Blackhouse.
P.S. When does Munoz get his pic shown?

good to know thanks Justin
Keep in mind Grove did submit a 3x D1 national champ in Rosholt. A college teammate of Munoz. So don’t be so quick to give Munoz the win by GNP. Grove has looked good in his last few fights and it pains me to say that as an OK State wrestling fan.
I’m excited for this fight, but it’s hard to find many fights that I wouldn’t have some sort of excitement for.
I like this fight. Its a good test for both guys with alot of outcomes. I think both are capeable in the stand-up department with Grove having the edge. But Munoz has improved his striking since the Hammil KO and seems to incorparate it well with his wrestling. I think the threat of the shot could keep Grove from realy letting go with his hands and kicks which will make this fight interesting standing or on the mat.
It would be intresting to see if we see Grove trying to time the knee with the take down. I have seen Munoz take shots from way outside of the pocket
I’ll tell you right now that Grove had best have a sharper fightplan to avoid takedowns and stay out of the gNp zone, because after seeing Munoz work Jensen like a $20 trick on New Year’s Eve, I don’t much like Grove’s chances from the bottom…
FYI, Munoz recieved his puple belt from Big Nog today. He will need that knowledge against Grove.
