Kendall Grove vs. Mark Munoz Possible for UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi

Kendall GroveKendall Grove, who announced on Tuesday that he’d next fight at UFC 112, is expected to fight fellow middleweight Mark Munoz at the April 10 in Abu Dhabi, as MMAjunkie reported today that the bout is in the works and at least one fighter has agreed to the contest.

Grove (11-6) went 4-2 after winning The Ultimate Fighter 3 in 2006, including victories over Alan Belcher, Evan Tanner, and Jason Day, before dropping a unanimous decision to Ricardo Almeida last August. “Da Spyder” bounced back in his most-recent fight, submitting Jake Rosholt in the opening-round in November at UFC 106.

Munoz (7-1), a former WEC light heavyweight, was knocked out in the first-round by Matt Hamill in his UFC debut last March, but has since rebounded with wins over Nick Catone in August and Ryan Jensen earlier this month.

UFC 112 has yet to be announced, but is shaping up to feature a stacked card that includes lightweight champ BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar, middleweight title-holder Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort, and Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie.
