Rafael dos Anjos has a tough test ahead of him tonight at UFC on FOX 17, but the lightweight champ says he’ll be ready to go, if and when Conor McGregor gets tapped for a title shot at 155.

Dos Anjos will take on Donald Cerrone tonight, and the bout will mark the first time he’s fought since March, when he decisioned Anthony Pettis to become champ. Leading up to tonight’s event, there’s been a ton of talk about McGregor challenging for the lightweight title next, especially since he bombed out Jose Aldo last weekend.

So, not surprisingly, dos Anjos continues to field questions about McGregor, and recently he told MMA Junkie.com the following:

“Money’s good. Everybody likes money. But it’s not the most important (thing) in life,” dos Anjos said, while discussing the fact that a bout with McGregor would almost certainly send him his biggest payday yet. “My focus is 100 percent on this fight, and whatever happens later … if (McGregor) wants to come (to lightweight), I’ll be there.”

Now, a lot of folks would love to see dos Anjos throw down with McGregor, or at least they should…But, the consensus seems to be that McGregor will only move into a lightweight title fight next, if Cerrone defeats RDA. The argument being that Cerrone-McGregor would be a much bigger bout. If RDA defeats Cerrone for a second time–he decisioned “Cowboy” in 2013, however, then the UFC will likely go with McGregor-Frankie Edgar.

It’s going to be fascinating to see how tonight’s headliner plays out. Cerrone has won 8 straight fights, and has become one of the UFC’s biggest names, so if RDA can score an impressive could he finally move into that big draw territory?

UFC on FOX 17 will be hosted by the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
