Welterweights Marcus Davis and Jonathan Goulet have agreed to square off on May 1 at UFC 113 in Montreal, Canada, according to MMA Fighting.
Davis (16-6) had an 11-fight win streak that included six-straight UFC victories snapped in a June 2008 loss to Mike Swick. After bouncing back with wins over Paul Kelly and Chris Lytle, “The Irish Hand Grenade” has dropped back-to-back fights to Dan Hardy last June and Ben Saunders in November.
Goulet (22-10) hasn’t fought since suffering a first-round KO to Mike Swick in December 2008, which stopped a three-fight win streak that included UFC wins over Paul Georgieff and Kuniyoshi Hironaka. “The Road Warrior” was scheduled to return at UFC 97 in April and UFC 100 in July, but injuries forced him to withdraw from the bouts.
UFC 113, which has yet to be officially announced, is expected to be headlined by a rematch between light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
