Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz 3 Possible for UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver

Chuck LiddellFormer light heavyweight champions Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, opposing coaches on the upcoming The Ultimate Fighter 11, could square off for the third time at UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver, Canada, according to News 1130.

Liddell has won both previous meetings with Ortiz, scoring a second-round knockout in April 2004 and a third-round TKO in December 2006.

Liddell (21-7) won seven-straight between 2004 and 2006, ending with his most-recent victory over Ortiz, but “The Iceman” has been out of action since an April 2009 loss to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, his fourth defeat in his last five fights.

Ortiz (15-7-1) returned to the Octagon for the first time in 18-months in November, suffering a split decision loss to Forrest Griffin. “The Hungtington Beach Bad Boy” has failed to win since an October 2006 victory over Frank Shamrock, fighting Rashad Evans to a draw while dropping bouts to Liddell, Lyoto Machida, and Griffin.

Nice gimme fight for chuck. Hope his still on top of his take down defense. Tito needs keep training with freddie roach if wants a chance to defend the overhand right.

The best thing about this fight is that it means the Ultimate fighter shood be airing in the next couple months

  • RussoC13 says:

definatly wont be a gimme fight for chuck.. tito is still a decent fighter and chuck has completely fallen off the wagon.. although i want chuck to win i dont think it will happen.. tito will be stronger and faster than chuck.. chuck is working on his jitz with jesus bravo so who knows.. maybe he will pull off a flying armbar and snap titos arm clean off

  • jordan says:

im goin for chuck but not at all interested n this fight. whats the point other than the ufc tryin 2 make money

  • boomer says:

not sure about you but thats on my trip i will definitly be there this card is going to kick a$$

  • jcohl says:

Its just too hard for me to get psyched for this fight.
Chuck is never going to change his fight style, therefore he’s never going to beat today’s evolving 205ers.
If he throws Ortiz another beating as a farewell, thats great. If age and the sport have finally passed him by to the point where he can’t beat Ortiz, then maybe some good is served and he’ll finally take that “Director of Fun” position that Dana White has joked about in interviews…

  • Hyper says:

As much as I’m a huge fan of Chuck L, its time for him to retire. He has nothing to gain by this fight and everything to loose.

    • Rynoman says:

I couldnt agree more…….he better win, cuz i dont wanna see him go out with a loss to ortiz. Him winning seems kind of expected so there’s no good coming from this. I think it just upsets people more than it excites them. One last knockout would be good to see though

  • daaaamn says:

that sucks, this better not be the main event if it happens…we have already seen this fight twice and i dont see either of these guy ever getting the belt agian

  • CBrown says:

Don’t mind watching Chuck fight, but Tito 3? Why? I Thought Dana would’ve done Tito dirty & thrown him in the ring with Anderson. I would’ve rather seen Chuck & Randy 1 last time.

  • craig says:

i would be more interested in tito-forrest 3

    • Mike Brodie says:

This fight is actually a downer. I’m really looking forward to travelling to Vancouver and hope Dana does not make this the main event. Tito should be able to finally defeat chuck……… but who really cares. Both fighters are going to great coaches but that’s it.

  • DArren says:

As a fan from Vancouver. I don’t really want to see this fight here!
Vancouver will be a huge gate for the UFC. IT should be something BIGGER.
Brock if he is back? GSP?

    Beggars cant be choosers though…

  • jordan says:

y cant we c chuck fight forrest or rich franklin still think he should’ve fought dan henderson but that will never happen

    • jcohl says:

Honestly, we’re lucky we’re seeing Chuck Liddell fight at all. Dana White would rather p!ss out a white-hot chain than see his boy Liddell catch another beating from someone he would have schooled 5 years ago, so if you’re an Iceman-iac, be thankful for his TUF 11 appearance and subsequent throwdown with Tito Ortiz…

  • Justin says:

Tito’s last win was over KEN Shamrock, not Frank.

  • Dubbs says:

Pissed!!! Been waiting for UFC to finally be able to come to Vancouver, and when it was first announced it was said GSP would be defending his title…Now 4 months later when its finally established what do I hear. No not Canada’s greatest champion defending his title….not even a title defence at all coming to Vancouver, instead two washed up fighters on their way out, the only thing worse to bring to Vancouver would be Mark Coleman vs Randy Couture!

I really hope that this is not our main event, I loved lidell 4 yrs ago, I could care less about him anymore, give us Anderson, give us Machida, give us ****ing Penn, I don’t care, just at least bring a title fight to Vancouver

  • TITOFAN says:

TITO!! TITO!! TITO!! that’s what you’ll being chanted by the crowd when the lift up the hand of the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy”
I predict Tito wins via TKO in Round 2

  • A says:

why?!?! WHYYYYYYY?!?!?! that is all i have to say to dana white. a rubber match is not necessary between two fighters who have experienced the same outcome in their previous two bouts. chuck has clearly demonstrated in the past that his fighting style leaves ortiz with zero options other than getting KTFO. this fight scares me because liddells chin is looking rather suspect as of late. although he is a far superior striker to ortiz, a semi-powerful right hand might find its mark and spell the end of the night for the iceman and the end of his career. this would be a very ****ty way for him to go out and leave many, myself included, super pissed for a very long time. the chuck of 3 or 4 years ago might even have what it takes to be a contender in todays pool of talented and dangerous light heavyweights, but such is not the case. COME ON! THIS IS LIDDELL’S LAST FIGHT AND YOU ARE MATCHING HIM UP WITH TITO FOR THE THIRD TIME?!?!?! complete and total bull****! put him up against forest. that would be a match many would want to see and I am confident liddell could easily defeat forest. many things go wrong in the UFC due to dana white’s stupid ideas and idiotic whims, but this may be the worst mistake he has ever made: potentially ending the career of the iceman with tito ortiz dancing around like he is the **** when he is damn certainly not!!!

  • Josh8 says:

I completely agree with the idea for Liddell vs. Griffin. I’ve wanted to see that for a long time. I’d hold a grudge towards White forever if Tito somehow magically wins the fight. Besides, Tito has always had an excuse for losing his fights. If Liddell can keep his guard a little higher it should be like any other Liddell vs Ortiz fight.
