Holly Holm prompted widespread reaction and hysteria by bombing out Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, but Nick Diaz ¬†thinks some folks’ reaction was overblown.

Holm’s heralded striking game delivered on Saturday night, as the former boxing champ evaded Rousey brilliantly and countered her advances with snapping punches. Then, shortly into round two, Holm ended the championship reign of Rousey with a vicious head kick.

After the fight, which was the biggest upset in UFC history, here is what Mr. Diaz tweeted out:

There you have it. Diaz isn’t the only person to raise questions about whether Rousey’s camp prepared her effectively for Holm. Diaz and Rousey have trained together in the past, and the latter came to his defense when he was suspended by the NSAC.

The last tweet is in reference to Diaz’s scrap with Anderson Silva this past January, which saw “The Spider” take the competitive bout via unanimous decision. Silva was flagged for performance-enhancing-drugs not long after, however, and the decision was overturned to a no-contest.

Diaz was also suspended for five years by the NSAC, after testing positive for marijuana, but recent reports indicate the lengthy sentence could be dramatically reduced. Diaz could be eligible to return next summer.
