Vitor Belfort Has “Eye” on “Disrespectful” Luke Rockhold Following UFC FN 77 Win

Vitor Belfort

Vitor Belfort already holds a stoppage win over Luke Rockhold, but the middleweight clearly would be interested in facing his vocal critic one more time….

Belfort dropped jaws throughout MMA in May, 2013, when he took Rockhold out with a spinning heel kick. Since the defeat, however, the former Strikeforce champ has won four straight, and will face champion Chris Weidman on December 12th. Rockhold has also blasted Belfort over his TRT use the entire time.

Well, following Belfort’s stoppage win over Dan Henderson at UFC Fight Night 77, “The Phenom” had this to say about Rockhold at the post-fight presser (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“There’s a guy, Luke Rockhold, that keeps talking a lot,” Belfort said. “He’s talking a lot, he’s a talker. Disrespectful guy. Really good, talented, but… I’ve got my eye on him.”

Interesting. Now, if Rockhold goes on to defeat Weidman at UFC 194, chances are he’ll face the winner of “Jacare” Souza – Yoel Romero, who are scheduled to fight that same night.

But, there’s no question that the UFC might look at Rockhold-Belfort II down the line, if the latter scores another win in the interim. A rematch between the two would certainly move tickets, yes, even if Belfort was stopped by Weidman this past May.

The only men who have defeated Belfort since 2006, and in his last 14 bouts are Weidman, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. No shame in that.

UFC FN 77 took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
