If Glover Teixeira lost last night to Patrick Cummins, a lot of folks would have closed the book on his title shot aspirations, but the heavy handed fighter violently prevented that from happening.
Teixeira was taken down several times by Cummins at UFC Fight Night 77, but the light-heavyweight contender repeatedly worked his way out and punished the wrestler with punches. Finally, in round two, the referee rescued Cummins from taking any further punishment.
It was a big win for Teixeira, as he’ll almost certainly remain a top five ranked light-heavyweight as a result of the win, which keeps him in the title shot mix.
After last night’s card, the 36 year-old spoke to the UFC and discussed the victory, as well as what he hopes comes next. You can check it out below.
