MMAFrenzy.com Featured in New asapMMA iPhone/iPod App
MMAFrenzy.com, known for its complete coverage of mixed martial arts since early-2007, is featured as a news source in the new asapMMA app, which is available now on the iPhone and iPod touch.
Here’s the official description of asapMMA:
asapMMA is a free app that aggregates and organizes the latest Twitter updates about the world of MMA, allowing users to tap into a real time news feed being created by both MMA reporters and fans alike. When a new fight is signed, a fighter is injured, or rumour breaks about something newsworthy, that news will instantly appear on asapMMA. The app automatically checks for updates every 20 seconds, ensuring that the news stream is as fresh as possible.
asapMMA has four major categories within the app: News, Events, Fighters & myFighters. News is a editorial-like news feed driven by some of the top MMA sites on the web (including MMAFrenzy.com). Events allows users to choose from a pre-populated list of upcoming MMA events, which then powers an aggregated view of Twitter updates about that event from both MMA sites and fans. Fighters, like Events, allows you to choose from a pre-populated list of MMA fighters to view news about that specific fighter. myFighters allows you to save up to 15 of your favourite fighters for an aggregated view of all of your fighter updates at once.

No app for the Droid? Boo
It’s an RSS aggregator. Grab one and subscribe appropriately.
Awesome, thanks.
Ingboo from the blackberry app world is free and seems promising.
Rikard here from IngBoo. The BlackBerry app mentioned in this thread can be downloaded at:

Pretty cool stuff, I do have a Bold so ok, but honestly pretty damnn cool
Gotta say, your profile pic throws me off now. But I like it.
Yeah, it threw me off the first time I saw it, but I like it too.
thx ;-)
Do companies forget that a lot of people have black berries also?
This just shows how much Frenzy has grown and how legit this site really is, great news.
Right now the priority for developers generally is iPod, Android, then BlackBerry. Android seems to slowly be moving up the list but iPod remains the major focus and will be for the immediate future, though I can check with the developer and see if there are any plans for Droid or BlackBerry apps.
Well, it makes sense, with the number of people that iPhones and iPod touches, and the prevalence of apps on those devices over the others.
That’d be awesome. I actually wanted to ask you if there way to post and reply to this site via my phone but without having to open my browser. But I know that someone would have to create a program for you, like “MmafrenZy Mobile.” Now THAT would be sick.
I’m hoping to get an MMAFrenzy.com app developed for all major platforms in 2010, though we do have a mobile-friendly site at http://m.mmafrenzy.com/
Hey guys — Ryan here from asapMMA/MMATraining.com. Plans are to definitely port the app over to the Android and Blackberry but it made sense to start with iPhone. Look for those two apps to be out in the first quarter of 2010. Like Kris and Justin said, it makes a lot of sense for iPod/iPhone to be the first platform to focus on, especially when it’s a from-scratch platform being built from the ground up. Perfect then scale, right? Cheers — rmay.
Thanks, we’ll be looking forward to it.
Ah fu<k, now the frenZy is going to make me spring for an iPhone…
;)
Resist the urge. There are plenty of alternatives. I resisted getting a smartphone as long as I could, but got dragged in.
