Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell has begun training at Eddie Bravo’s 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu ahead of his upcoming appearance as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 11 and following matchup with opposing coach and fellow former title-holder Tito Ortiz.
“Chuck Liddell officially joins the 10th Planet family.Einstein&I will do r best 2 turn him into a jiu jitsu master,” Bravo wrote on Twitter earlier this week.
After winning the title in 2005 and defending it four times, Liddell has dropped four of his past five bouts, including back-to-back losses to Rashad Evans in 2008 and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in 2009.
Though “The Iceman” still prepares primarily with his long-time trainer John Hackleman at The Pit, Liddell added training at American Top Team to his regimen ahead of his April loss to “Shogun” and has now begun training at 10th Planet following his brief retirement (and appearance on Dancing with the Stars).

Good for chuck.it’ll be interesting to see if he implements anything he learns in a fight.I have a hard time seeing him pulling rubber guard on someone.
Maybe Liddell is hoping to “BJJ” his way out of what he assumes will be Tito’s repeated attempts to take him down and pound him out?
Which is odd, because Liddell is a pretty solid wrestler, and over the years has used his mat skills to augment his sprawl and brawl skillset.
In their previous fights Liddell never really seemed in serious danger of getting gNp’ed, but maybe age and cage-rust have caught up with him?
tito ortiz is a boring fighter he stands around and thinks its and entertaining fight, atleast chuck goes out there guns blazin
Does anybody really even want to see this fight again? I could care less.
nope.. chuck is my hero but i dont want to ever see him fight again.. i dont want to see him lose
Then don’t watch.
Tito by tko retire Chuck for good
Your a
F***ing idiotif You think that. Obviously You havent seen their last two fights.Really with a personal attack right off the bat, com’on man

Old Man Power for the win!!!!!!!!!!!
In my opinion, Chuck is the hardest p4p fighter to take down and hold down. Karma beat him to the punch when he said that Fedor has no punching power and that he would ko Fedor. The opposite has happened: he got koed and Fedor has shown his punching power on Timmy, Andrei, and Brett. If Chuck wants to regain his title he should stop doing his sprawl and brawl against fighters like Keith, Mauricio, etc. He has better take down skills than a lot of fighters. He should take down three contenders and lay and pray his way to a title shot. Good opponent for him shouldn’t be a wrestler like Randy anymore, it should be any fighter Chuck could take down and lay and pray for 15 minutes; that it includes Tito Ortiz. Chuck will be champion again basically if he stops brawling, and resorts to wrestling again.
i always snicker when someone mentions fedor KO’n big tim and andrei.. like c’mon do they really count towards fedor’s punchin power?
Fedor didn’t KO Tim Sylvia, he made him tap due to choke
Also lets not forget that going into the fight with AA many people believe that it would be AA’s boxing that would put him towards the victory vs the man from Russia and AA was at that time ranked by many as the 4th or 5th best HW in the world, but hey whatever
Is it me or does Eddie Bravo look like a troll haha, I dont know his head looks wierd
it could be the shadows behind him
Says the man who has Eddie wearing a phallus as his avatar…
again kind sir it is clearly a Bong… :P
From where I’m sitting, it looks like a giant, fake penis.
no chuck should not b fighting tito. i mean chuck beat him 2 times already n tko’ed him both times it’s like when rich franklin got beat by anderson silva they told him that he would never get another shot at him again face it tito u can’t beat chuck. chuck has at least 5 guys that he should fight b4 he hangs up his gloves mark coleman, lil nog, forrest griffin, dan henderson (dont think that will ever happen), n rich franklin. the maybes that he should fight r thiago silva, lyoto machida, kimbo slice, n randy n their last fight under the ufc banner
Jordan….lol Xmas is over man, no more wishes. On record though….Chuck would drop Kimbo! Lil Nog would drop Chuck (first round), I would love to see Forrest vs. Chuck & I think that would be the same as seeing Chuck vs. Franklin. Machida? F*ck him!! Shogun all day.
hey man im just sayin those r fights that need 2 happen. chuck was the ufc’s golden boy n the 205 class when pride was still operating. when they were purchased they were putting him up against the best guys that pride had 2 offer but they never made the chuck liddell/dan henderson fight happen which should have. if franklin never dropped 2 middleweight he n chuck would have ran n2 each other at some point so y not make that fight happen franklin is nearing the end of his carear. y i think everyone would love 2 c the liddell griffin fight. but i think the ufc needs 2 get as much as they can out of chuck b4 he really retires
I’m a huge fan of Chuck & have the utmost respect for him, but he’s turning into another one that should retire. He has nothing to gain by fighting Tito (except for some $$$) and everything to loose. If he beats Tito again the opinion will be “so what he beat him 2 times before” – if he looses then that will only cement what people are saying about him retiring & tarnish he legacy even more. Never mind the fact that Tito will be running his mouth about it for months to come.
Chuck is a heck of a fighter, and maybe the time off gave him an opportunity to heal and rest. As far as fighting Griffin and or Franklin not sure if that will happen. Griffin and Franklin are ruomored to be fighting eachother in May…
Chuck liddell will defenetly win for the third time by tko. He is the man. “The Iceman”.
I agree with you Derek
i hope chuck wins but im worried if he wins he will carry on fighting, and it really is time to hang up the gloves
all the training in the world wont help chuck unless he uses it…
if chuck comes out the same way he has every other fight he will lose… he needs to re-invent himself. he needs to evolve like the sport has evolved otherwise he will end up unconscious on the mat again and again
Does this mean the iceman is going to start smoking weed?
The UFC (Dana) doesnt want to throw Chuck in with someone who can knock him out and want him to either get his career back on track or retire with a few good wins under his belt. Tito is “baby food” for Liddell. They want to see what his stomach can take before they give him solids. They know Chuck will beat Tito. Stylisticly this will always be a bad match up for Ortiz and wont put Chuck in too much danger of becoming a vegetable after a solid punch.
if chuck smokes any of eddie bravos green he will be great at jitz.. bravos weed is like popeye and spinach
You assume he didn’t already do that… we know he has a drinking problem.
This is a guy who has beat guys like vitor belfort, alstair overeem, wanderla silva and the only guy to put randy cotoure a sleep so I think his sprawl and brawl is pretty good
