Mike Brown vs. Anthony Morrison Announced for “WEC 46: Varner vs. Henderson”
Former featherweight champion Mike Brown will return to action for the first time since losing the title, drawing newcomer Anthony Morrison at “WEC 46: Varner vs. Henderson” on January 10 in Sacramento, California.
Brown (22-5) defeated Jeff Curran in his WEC debut in June 2008 for his seventh-straight win, then won the featherweight title with a knockout of Urijah Faber last November. Following successful title defenses over Leonard Garcia and Faber, Brown suffered a second-round TKO to Jose Aldo in November to lose the belt.
Morrison (12-6) has won 8 of his past 10 fights, most-recently bouncing back from a September loss to Micah Miller with back-to-back victories, including a first-round knockout of UFC veteran Alvin Robinson earlier this month.
WEC 46, which airs live on Versus, is headlined by a unification matchup between lightweight champions Jamie Varner and Ben Henderson and also features Urijah Faber vs. Raphael Assuncao.

Hermm, I don’t know if I have ever seen Morrision fight before. Honestly, I dont even know who he is I dont think. Not too excited for this one.
I think that Morrison’s win over Robinson came at ROF 36 at the beginning of the month… so he gets his WEC debut against the rebound champ. Looks to me like the WEC wants to get Brown back in the title picture ASAP.
How is it fair to make your debut against Brown?
Oh yeah life ain’t fair…
