Stephen Thompson and Neil Magny have been on quite the runs the last couple of years, and now the welterweight contenders will square off at UFC 195.

On Thursday, the promotion announced that Thompson-Magny will be part of the January 2nd event, which will go down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Thompson (11-1) is currently riding a five fight, winning streak, and in July, he electrified the MMA world by taking out Jake Ellenberger with a spinning hook kick. The only man who has defeated the dynamic striker to date is Matt Brown.

Magny (16-4) is only one win removed from a decision loss to jiu-jitsu god, Demian Maia, but he’s gone 8-2 in his last ten fights. Last year, Magny fought five times and won each bout.

Thompson is currently ranked #8 in the UFC’s 170 division and Magny is sitting in the #12 spot.

UFC 195 will feature a welterweight title fight between champion Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit.
