There may be no other fighter who’s been called out as much as Michael Bisping, and now another man has added himself to that very lengthy list…
Bisping was scheduled to fight Robert Whittaker at UFC 193 on November 14th, but recently it was announced that “The Count” has pulled out due to injury.
“I think Bisping has elbow issues. He’s probably going to take some time to heal. That would be a good fight for me. I’d love for my next fight to be Michael Bisping.”
“Whenever he is ready, I’m going to be ready,” Carneiro added later. “Come on Michael Bisping. Take your time off. I wish you a fast recovery, and let’s go face each other.
A fight with Bisping would certainly make sense for Carneiro, since he’s ranked #15 at 185 and the British star is #7. The question is whether Bisping would feel the same; although, Whittaker is ranked #14.
Recently Lyoto Machida, who is positioned at #5, also said he wants to fight Bisping. So, one would think the UFC might take a long look at that match-up, as clearly it would move some tickets.
Carneiro was scheduled to fight Gegard Mousasi last month at UFC FN 75, but had to withdraw due to injury. The Brazilian was tapped for the assignment after he choked out Mark Munoz at UFC 184 in February.
Bisping, meanwhile, is coming off a split decision win over Thales Leites in July.
