UFC 192: Alexander Gustafsson Could be Sidelined Until Next Year

Alexander Gustafsson

Alexander Gustafsson went to war with Daniel Cormier at UFC 192, and it the light-heavyweight contender could be sidelined for a while as a result.

Gustafsson threw everything he could at the champion on Saturday, but the Swedish star also took a ton of punishment, and was a bloody mess afterwards.

Texas officials have released the medical suspensions following the card, and according to a report from MMA Junkie.com, Gustafsson will need doctor clearance to fight again in the next six months.

No details regarding Gustafsson’s injuries were provided, so hopefully “The Mauler” won’t be sidelined for that long.

Cormier won the epic battle, which took place in Houston, by split decision.
