I swear, I am a bad luck charm for fighters. Pete Sell was winning in my book against Quarry, in fact had him out at one point. I have never seen someone recover that fast from a wolupping punch like Sell delivered. The MMA gods must have known I had money on Sell though, because he got caught. I was really impressed with Leban and his new style. It seems Hawii has been a good move for him. I wish Din Thomas wouldn’t have jacked his knee up though, because I think the fight would have gone differently. He was way more powerful than Florian, but Florian looked good.
I’ll tell you a fight I’d like to see. Luke Cummo vs. Cole Miller. I think that they are both very skilled fighters, Miller being better on the ground, and Cummo being a brilliant stand up tactitioner.
Sell was winning. I like Sell a lot and I wish he lasted the third round because even if he lost the third round he would have won the fight via unanimous decision 29 to 28. Sell is a banger and I would love to see him back in the UFC.
SCOTCHYDOW; a Cummo vs. Miller fight would be entertaining, but since they are in two different classes, it might not happen. If I had to pick, I would go with Cummo. Cummo is no joke on the ground, espcially since he trains ju jitsu with Matt Serra. His stand up may be too much for Miller. Feel free to agree or disagree with me SCOTCHYDOW or Kris: how does this sound: In match up of fighters that lost their fight on Ultimate Fight Night Live; how would a Sell vs. Martin fight sound? Also in a match up of winners winning their last fight; how about a Quarry vs. Cote fight?
I was very unimpressed with Martin and extremely unimpressed with Lebans victory.Sure he scored a KO when he needed it but Martin absolutely sucked.
Florian is a madman! I hope he gets the belt one day.
