UFC FN 75: Roy Nelson Reflects on Loss, Still Planning “Revenge Tour”

Although Roy Nelson is pushing 40, and has lost five of his last six fights, it doesn’t sound like “Big Country” is thinking about hanging up the gloves.

At UFC Fight Night 75 on Saturday, Nelson’s toughness and legendary chin was on display once again, but the heavyweight was decisioned by Josh Barnett. The defeat was Nelson’s third straight, since he KO’d Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira last April.

After the card, the heavy handed fighter was asked about his future, and here is some of what Nelson relayed (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“For myself, I said after this I was going on a revenge tour,” Nelson said. “I guess now Josh is also back on the list.”

Nelson was also asked for his thoughts on the loss, and he said the “biggest thing for me that was disappointing was today I just got outworked.” Nelson went on to say that he believes he was better in the scrap with Barnett, than his fight with Alistair Overeem. That fight took place in March, and the latter won the bout via UD.

It will be interesting to see what comes next for Nelson. Typically, a fighter who has lost five of his last six would be released. But, Nelson has been fighting top tier guys, and still has a ton of people who want to see him fight.
