Right Chris, a title fight is exactly at the limit, there isn't a one pound allowance.

Ed - Typically fighters are given one pound allowances which allowed Din to make weight in this case. This can vary from state to state but that's the general way they work. If a fighter doesn't make that one pound allowance of their weight class they are typically given a set amount of time to drop the weight and re-weigh in.

In some instances if a fighter is not close to making weight or is too weak to cut the additional pounds their opponent can opt out of the fight outright or accept the fight at their oppositions current weight but the overweight fighter will be docked a portion of their pay and their opponent who made weight will receive a portion of that money as a bonus for agreeing to the catchweight fight.

New to MMA, how close to weight to do you have to be to "make weight" Din came in at 156, class technically ends at 155?
Thank You
