Danzig vs. Buchholz, Hague vs. Tuchscherer Announced for UFC 109 Prelims
The UFC on Wednesday confirmed six bouts for the preliminary card of “UFC 109: Relentless,” which takes place on February 6 in Las Vegas, including Demian Maia vs. Dan Miller, Melvin Guillard vs. Ronys Torres, Phillipe Nover vs. Rob Emerson, and Mostapha Al-Turk vs. Rolles Gracie, as well as previously-unreported matchups between lightweights Mac Danzig and Justin Buchholz and heavyweights Tim Hague and Chris Tuchscherer.
Danzig (18-7-1), The Ultimate Fighter 6 winner, has fallen to 2-3 inside the Octagon with three-straight losses to Clay Guida, Josh Neer, and Jim Miller, while Buchholz (8-4) dropped to 1-3 in the UFC with back-to-back losses to Terry Etim and Jeremy Stephens in 2009.
Hague (10-2) won his UFC debut over Pat Barry in May, but suffered a UFC-record 7-second knockout to Todd Duffee in August, while Tuchscherer (17-2), a training partner of Brock Lesnar, was knocked out by Gabriel Gonzaga in the opening round of his UFC debut in August.
UFC 109 is headlined by Randy Couture vs. Mark Coleman and also features Josh Koscheck vs. Paulo Thiago, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Brandon Vera, Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen, and Matt Serra vs. Frank Trigg.

Is anyone else surprised to see Demian Maia dropped down to a preliminary fight already? He was one win away from being the number one contender in the middleweight division, but I guess the manner in which he lost that fight really hurt his rep.
i dont think its so much that rather then there just being so many other fights on the main card that people would rather see, although im always tuning in to see maia.
i thought that danzig was cut after he lossed to neer? good on him for coming back if thats the case
Danzig was not cut.
This card looks awesome! Can’t wait
With a loss, Danzig could be the 1st Ultimate Fighter winner to get cut from the UFC.
Second, if you count Travis Lutter as a TUF winner, which technically he was, though that season was a bit different.
