Carlos Condit Withdraws From UFC 108 Co-Main Event Matchup With Paul Daley
An injury has forced former WEC welterweight champ Carlos Condit to withdraw from his scheduled matchup with Paul Daley that was to co-headline UFC 108 on January 2 in Las Vegas.
According to MMAUnltd, which broke news of Condit’s injury earlier today, the UFC is seeking a replacement to fight Daley at the pay-per-view event, which is headlined by light heavyweight contenders Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva.
In a post on The Underground, Daley mentioned Josh Koscheck and Dustin Hazelett as potential replacements, but made it clear he’s willing to fight anyone.

I have a feeling Kos is going to drop out of his fight with Paulo Thiago and take this one. It may not happen, but if it does, you heard it here.
Good call, I wouln’t be surprised at all and would also think it would be a better match than his re-match with Thiago.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kos want to step up and take this fight either, especially since Daley is Dan Hardy’s teammate so Kos already has a problem with their gym. I don’t know that that is the match up the UFC would like to make though.
Pretty sure he wants to avenge his only KO loss first.
He also wants to maximize his 20 month, unlimited fights contract…
With sarcasm in mind, at this point they might as well just announce events and check with their roster to see who is ready the week of. I honestly wonder how good of a card they could pull off that way. < Not to be taken on a serious note.
Well… Dream and Sengoku only give fighters about 15 days notice….
I didn’t really think this fight was co-main event material. Hopefully someone good will replace Condit.
I agree with animosity it wuznt a good looking co-maine event. But I’m not chocked about the news almost everybody pulled off this card. After christmas evans or silva will b pulling out do 2 staff or something.
no1 will stand with daley at 170 only way hes going to get beat is by a guy like kos who will take him down,
Assuming Kos doesn’t get KOed trying to stand with him first.
My assessment of KOS is after the whole thiago (paulo & alves) debaucle is that KOS no longer sees himself as an elite stirker. He got back to his wrestling with Rumble and I think he would do well to continue that trend.
mike swick would be a good standup fight
No one gonna claim that Condits scared? Our troll filter must be set at an all time high
Daley did that himself. Quite funny but on certain sites people now all hate Semtex because he claims he knows why he dropped out and called Condit a cat, if you know what I mean. I still support the guy so I hope they give Semtex a good fight.
On another note, this is starting to look closer to a Fight Night card rather than a year ending blockbuster (that’s takes place in the new year, obviously).
Thankfully no one is trolling around here saying that Nick… at least for now.
The latest update I have seen is that Condit sliced his hand open on some sheet metal.
how about sadollah?
Dustin Hazelett should be the replacement, he was suppose to fight Karo Parisyan on UFC 106 but Parisyan pulled out.
I think your right with that one.
Wow, this card’s getting weaker and weaker due to injuries…..paul daley wins one fight in the UFC and is in the co main event….
