After a one week hiatus, The Ultimate Fighter 10 returned to Spike TV on Wednesday for the final episodes of the season, as Darrill Schoonover took on Marcus Jones and James McSweeney battled Matt Mitrione in the remaining quarterfinal bouts.
McSweeney advanced to the semifinals with a first-round guillotine choke submission of Mitrione, while Jones scored a first-round knockout of Schoonover with ground-and-pound to move on in the heavyweight tournament.
UFC President Dana White then announced the semifinals matchups, with Team Rashad teammates McSweeney and Roy Nelson set to square off, leaving Team Rampage’s lone representative Jones to fight Brendan Schaub.
Nelson becomes the season’s first finalist with a first-round TKO of McSweeney before Schaub earns the other finale slot with his own first-round TKO of Jones.
The Ultimate Fighter 10 champion will be crowned on Saturday, when Nelson and Schaub square of at the TUF 10 Finale at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas live on Spike TV.
