Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick on Monday signed a bill passed last month by lawmakers to officially regulate mixed martial arts in the state, clearing way for the UFC to debut in Boston in 2010.
“Gov. Deval patrick just signed the MMA bill in Mass.! I am so excited words can not describe! Here we come Boston! NY is next! Think about where we started. One state to go then Ontario!,” wrote UFC President Dana White on Twitter.
Though a date has yet to be determined for the event, the card is expected to take place in the summer, with White, a Boston-native, previously stating that Fenway Park and TD Garden were under consideration as venues for the show.

Florian vs Diego/Sherk rematch likely for this one. I hope.
I think KenFlo will have to have another win before that.
Realy? So if he beats Guida and Diego loses(which is a good possibility you dont think they should fight. And its not like Sherk is doing all that good himself after losing to Edgar. So that fight could happen regardless.
) after possibility
No. If he beats Guida, that will be another win. Puts him back at the top.
I actually was thinking he might fight the BJ/Diego winner for the title if he beats Guida convincingly.
Sounds like another road trip!!!!!
I’ve never been to Boston and I enjoy Irish Pubs, good enough for me and by no means am I joking :P
Welcome to the party, Massachusetts…
So Florian, Lauzon, Lauzon, Marcus Davis, the MacManus brothers ;), and the rest of Team Sityodtong will all have a date on their fight schedules soon haha.
and I shouldn’t have forgotten Team Link as well…
Dont forget about my teammate John”Doomsday”Howard of Wai Kru MMA Boston
Absolutely exited about this. Can’t wait to see if dana actually pulls it off at fenway.Being a new hampshire native i would love to see a fight there.Although having been to both venues td bank north garden would probally make more sense.
