Preliminary Bouts Complete WEC 45 Fight Card
The fight card for “WEC 45: Cerrone vs. Ratcliff” is now complete following the official addition of the event’s preliminary bouts.
WEC 45 takes place on December 19 at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas with a lightweight matchup between Donald Cerrone and Ed Ratcliff headlining the Versus-televised main card.

I guess the one word I’d use to describe this card is “meh” (think of that Simpsons episode with the lovable monkey helper Mojo).
Instead of cutting guys, the UFC should send the smaller guys down to the farm league, so to speak.
I sort of agree about the WEC.
IMO Zuffa should do one of following two things:
1)Incorporate the WEC’s 125, 135 and 145 divisions into the UFC, and stop worrying about all of the cage size issues. Men like Urijah Faber and Migues Torres deserve their time in the big show spotlight.
2)Reinstate the WEC’s 170 pound division, so that guys like Brock Larson have somewhere to work when they get jacked up in the big show.
Also, with so much talent out there at 170, it would probably help the WEC’s bottom line to have some more promotable fights and marketable fighters, and the added dynamic of guys at 170 fighting not just to win, but to win impressively enough to catch the eye of Joe Silva, or even Dana himself…
