This could be one of the better cards of the year - then again it could also be a complete bust!!! It all looks good on paper but some of these guys don't have the snap that they used to. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Cro Cop hasn't done a thing worth remembering since he left Pride. His intensity's gone so I think he'll be easy pickings for Rothwell.

Wanderlei has been decent since he's been in the UFC but, there again, he's lost the intensity that made him a superstar. I think Bisping wins by TKO and gets his first victory over a name fighter. This will definitely be a better fight than Mirko vs Rothwell.

Nog & Cain is going to be a good one. Nog doesn't get knocked out (unless he's fighting with a staph infection like he had when he faced Mir) so Cain is going to have to ground-and-pound his way to victory. Cain is going to dominant in the trenches, along the fences and on the ground - he is a beast and he has too much power and athleticism for Nog to handle through one round, much less three!

But Nog is a legend, he's got years more experience than Cain, he might just pull something unexpected like a submission and walk away with the victory.

I'm real glad this one's the main event, it deserves the status.

Agreed.
IF Lesnar returns healthy, and IF Lesnar returns as committed to MMA as he was prior to getting sick, I really don't foresee ANY UFC or non-UFC HW beating him.
Consider:

-Shane Carwin, and probably Josh Barnett, lack the speed, aggression, and sheer savagery to beat Lesnar.
-BigNog, Velasquez, Couture, and Mir all lack the size to beat Lesnar.
-Herring, CroCop,Overeem and Kongo lack the skills to beat Lesnar.
-Rothwell, Nelson, Antonio Silva, and Gonzaga can't begin to match Lesnar's freakish athleticism [for a man pushing 300], and names like Dos Santos, Werdum, Duffee, Rogers, Lashley and Rosario don't have either the experience and/or the sheer power to make it out of the first round with Lesnar, ESPECIALLY in a cage.

If you are not a Lesnar supporter, your best chance to see him beaten is if the UFC and M-1 Global can reconcile their differences and sign a Fedor-Lesnar fight.
That is IF the Fedorians are correct, and their man really is the best HW of all time and/or the best MMA fighter of all time.
Some of us see Lesnar simply doing to Fedor what he seems to everyone else, which is mainly to ground them into a horrible mat position, and "silverback" his way to a ref stoppage.
Obviously the Fedorians among us think that Lesnar's overaggression would lead him to either getting hooked and subbed by Fedor, or simply KTFO'ed in a stand-up exchange.
Hopefully we'll one day get a chance to see who's right and who's wrong.

And I'm not trying to turn this into another Fedor/Lesnar thread, just trying to point out the stark correctness of Harrison's post.
Peace...

Yeah, yeah.
So and so is fighting whatshisname at UFC 1 oh something or other.
Dana has no fu<king clue as to when and where any of his fights is going to drop, as very card is always "rumored" to be featuring someone.

That damned gypsy curse, oh, apologies to any who are offended by my use of the term "gypsy", spellcasting-American curse, is really starting to eat away at the credibility of the UFC to get guys into the cage and to actually fight when and where the fanbase would like to see them fight...

Yeah I don't get it. Sinosic hasn't been over .500 since 1997. That's 12 years with a losing record. His one win in the UFC (1-6) will come almost 9 years to the day of his UFC return come February. I don't get it.

I doubt it would be a split decision just because first off standing up it could go either way Stricking it probley could go either way we've seen in the past that velasquaz does have some good stricking and we saw some much improved stricking with big nog when he fought randy couture and you know that he's been working with his brother so his stricking should be pretty good in this fight but the biggest advantage that cain has is his wrestling and ground and pound with ben rothwell cain took him down when ever he wanted to and punched him in the face a bunch of times granted the fight might have been stoped a little early (althought getting punched in the face isn't an intellegent way to defend yourself) cain still dominated a tough fighter that a lot of people thought was going to give cain a lot of problems. Another aspect in the fight is going to be weather or not cain will be able to take a lot of punishment like big nog will. we've seen in way more then one time that big nog can take a punch so i doubt that cain will be able to put him away but we really havn't seen that with velasquaz to many times. in the kongo fight he did get rocked a few good times but for the most part velazquaz was able to take kongo down and beat up on him until he won a decision. but we really havn't seen if he'll take all the shots big nog will and keep coming after him. then of course we have to see cains ground game in action against a guy wil big nog who speciallizes in the ground game. so far all of the guys velasquaz has fought are good strickers but we havn't seen him fight a guy like big nog who if he takes down can submit him in an instant so if i were in cains training camp i'd tell him to work on his stricking and submission defence and in big nog training camp work on pressing the action and wrestling to take cain down but the way i see it it probley going to be a u decision for velasquaz
