Now, if you saw their first encounter, which took place in December, 2013, then you know it was one of the year’s best scraps, and one of the most entertaining heavyweight fights in UFC history. The fight was declared a majority draw.
MMA Fighting.com is reporting that the UFC has targeted UFC 193 for the rematch, which will take place in Melbourne, Australia (due to the time difference the card will happen on November 15th there). A venue for that card hasn’t been determined yet.
Hunt (10-10-1) will be looking to end a two fight losing skid, as he’s been taken out by Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic in his last two outings. Prior to those losses he bombed out Roy Nelson last September.
Silva (19-7-1), on the other hand, took out Soa Palelei in his last bout, which took place at UFC 190 earlier this month. The heavyweight was coming off back-to-back, KO losses to Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir.
So, this would be a fantastic addition to a card that will see welterweight champ Robbie Lawler take on Carlos Condit in the headliner. Sounds good no?
