So i guess they are just going to feed Kimbo strikers until he shores up his ground game (or his knee falls apart). Not the worst strategy I have ever heard of – I really hope Slice makes it in the UFC. I really admire his determination and heart.

  • deathDecaY says:

Yeah the casual fans would love this.

  • onewaytiket says:

i thought Dana said TUF aint over untill its over, in regards to Kimbo fighting in the house….what a BS….or he fought and lost …AGAIN.

    • Markus J says:

He won’t fight again on the show. Dana says what he does to get millions to tune in to watch every week, to an otherwise boring and lackluster season of TUF which would likely be struggling in the ratings without the presence of Kimbo Slice.

To all those who have watched this full season believing Slice would fight again on the show, what the hell were you thinking? lol.

I can all but guarantee this “major announcement” involving Kimbo that we were promised this Wednesday is nothing more than Dana informing him he will be appearing on TUF finale show December 5th. Millions of casual fans will learn what all of us internet folk have known for months. Big f’in deal.

      • Markus J says:

An otherwise fitting ending, to the most disappointing and predictable season of TUF, ever. This one even beats out the Amir/Dollaway season….

Only thing I look forward to is Big Country winning the 6 figure contract much to the dismay of Dana White. lol.

    • shane says:

it says right up there nothing is final until wednesday is over! untill the show is over

  • deathDecaY says:

The amir/dollaaway season was great, but your righte about this one

  • jcohl says:

The fact that Dana at least on the surface can’t stomach Roy Nelson sort of makes me wonder about the strength of the vaunted TUF six figure contract.
Dana has recently swerved fighters with a lot more MMA cred than Roy Nelson, and has always treated the UFC like his personal fight club. Even if Nelson wins TUF, I wouldn’t be too sure of him having a strong UFC run.
Yes, legally Zuffa might be obligated to pay him some base salary per fight or some such, but if I were Roy Nelson I would check my douchebaggage at the door, and do my best to impress my new boss, instead of irritating the fu<k out of him like Nelson unerringly seems to do…

    • buzzbradski says:

I remember reading a few years ago that the ’six figure contract’ is not all it’s cracked up to be. Something about it being spread out over a large amount of fights and that the fighter can be released at any point.

Looking at Amir’s payout for his last fight ($15,000 not including win bonus), makes me think it should be called ‘A Five Figure Contract that eventually adds up to six figures if we keep you around long enough’.

      • Justin H says:

We already know that TUF guys get more chances than regular guys if they lose (Nate Diaz, Mac Danzig), that increases the likelihood of of them reaching that six figure number.

      • jcohl says:

I agree that TUF guys got more chances than non-TUF guys in the past, but with the sport’s talent level rising like it is, a guy can’t afford to repeatedly rub Dana the wrong way, like Roy Nelson does.
Nelson could very well IMO be the first TUF winner sh!t-canned for flat out p!ssing off his boss one time too many…

      • Justin H says:

Dana said that Nelson can be as annoying as he wants as long has he keeps winning.

  • bottumzup says:

I really hate this match-up for Slice so soon..He is not ready for Alexander. The leg kicks & knee from the muay tai clinch are gonna kill him. Houston is not gonna stand & “bang” with Kimbo..Well at least he’s getting a check & Dana’s respect from this fight..

  • oldman420 says:

Kimbo is risking alot by fighting Houston. This guy could end Kimbo’s career with those leg kicks. He made his last opponent quit from leg kicks.

    • jcohl says:

Actually, I don’t think Slice is really risking all that much.
The likelihood that Alexander is going to win by “fatality!” is fairly small, and the bar is set pretty low for a guy who essentially has the same cage time [and less of a ground game] than I do.
And its not like I’m Hendo or anywhere close to it.
As long as Slice remains humble, shows incremental improvement, is willing to fight regardless of the opponent, and retains his current box office appeal, Dana is going to offer him opportunities…

  • jiujitsuMAN says:

bah i say kimbo is gonna take houston down and gnp to the win…. lol either that or houston is gonna do that to slice…

if i were to fight either of these guys my main strategy would be close distance, take down, gnp or submit… i wouldnt waste anytime tryin to bang with them… why bother?

unless you get that one perfect strike that drops them… which both houston and slice have had happen your best chance of winning is on the ground
