Heavyweight contender and former champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, who withdrew from a January matchup with Cain Velasquez due to a severe staph infection, told MMA Weekly over the weekend that he’ll be able to fight in February and hopes to return against Cain Velasquez at UFC 110 on February 21 in Sydney, Australia.
“I didn’t take the antibiotic enough. The medicine given me in Brazil wasn’t good,” said Nogueira. “If I (had accepted) the match for (UFC 108), I would have just 18 days for training. It’s not enough. In February I’ll be ready to fight when they ask me to fight. In February I think I’ll be in shape. I’d love to fight in Australia. If they put me on the card, I would love to fight there.”

there should be a tournament for the Interim Title to make things mroe interesting now that Brock is out for a while, it would give the Heavyweights something worht fighting for ultimately culminating with a Title Fight when Brock returns.
I agree, but we all know that Dana White hates tournaments, so I’m guessing the likelihood of seeing one is at about the same level as Karo Parisyan spending Thanksgiving dinner at the White household…
