Who wins the UFC on Versus 2 main event between Jon Jones and Vladimir Matyushenko?
Total Voters: 463

Vera over Coture StrikeForce got it right why couldn’t the UFC get it right @ 105
Because neither Strikeforce nor the UFC scores fights or hands out decisions, Short Bus.
That and the fact that Vera actually knocked out Couture in this case, unlike the other fight.
Side note, is 5 strikes enough to negate 4:30 of being controlled?
According to the judges ….No.
If you don’t want the judges to make the decision don’t leave it in their hands. The way I look at it was that fight was tough to score but 2 of the 3 judges had it the same way I did.
Initially I was on the Vera got robbed band wagon, but I read a piece on another site about the NSAC judging is supposed to work (or at least the way it was supposed to under Marc Ratner, don’t know if it’s changed under Kizer), and it changed my mind.
Basically it’s a weighted system, Effective triking/Grappling are the top two, then “cage control”/aggression/etc. are worth less points. If a round is 4:30 of grappling, with :30 of striking, the grappling is supposed to outweight the striking because there was more of it. If its 4:30 of striking and :30 of grappling, then striking outweighs grappling. That way a fighter theoretically can’t be out grappled for 4:30, then in the last :30 get back to the feet and land 5 strikes to the opponents 1 and win the round. And vice versa, with a person being outstruck for 4:30, then getting a takedown in the last 30 seconds and winning the round. If you follow that system, Randy won, because most of the first two rounds were grappling, at which Randy was the better man.
