    My thoughts on the night:

Casey wants to prove that you don’t have to be well rounded to succeed in MMA… interesting stance, we’ll see how far that takes you.

Feijao started slow and turned it on later, good on him to get back on top. Renalo should not complain about clinch work along the cage, it’s annoying to hear the announcer criticizing aspects of the sport. Strikeforce should really allow elbows to downed opponents.

Apple started fast and ended slow. Good on Voekler to weather the early storm and earn the TKO. Live I thought the stoppage was late, but on replay I say it was a good stoppage.

Kim Couture tried to implement the same gameplan her ex-husband used against Kerry Vera’s husband, but executed it poorly. Vera on the other hand executed her husbands game plan much better and looked pretty devastating doing it. I would definitely like to see her fight again.

Stephen Quadros “The Fight Professor” is horrible at in-cage interviews. Watching him interview the fighters tonight was painful, I don’t know who had it worse, Vera for having to deal with his garbage, or Couture for getting KOed… it was that bad.

Tyron Woodley is a beast, and he looked dominant, look forward to seeing him fight again.

I’m not sure that Woodley is a beast honestly, he did beat a leser man tonight…. He has crazy wrestling skills forsure and knows the “triangle” or body wise….. but standup is for now his weakness….

Ok Apple should have won that bout yet gassed and got rocked/(t)ko’d oops

the commentary was just super bad and showtime should have put some prelims on, nevertheless a good night of free fights and i enjoyed it and finally a Vera won……..

On Apple….Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda…all that is lost on a guy like Volker. Apple never anticipated hitting a guy with such solid shots and him being able to still stand. Not only did he still stand, but kept bringing it to him and daring him to try again. Volker is tough as an old boot and if you want to knock the guy out you better bring a baseball bat. Apple is a good fighter and I’m sure he was thinking….DAMN…what do I have to do to make this guy go to sleep?

On Woodley and the commentary…SPOT ON!

The Couture-Vera family feud stands at 1-1.
I wonder who can step in to tiebreak?

I think Demiam Maia could tell Kevin caey a few things about mono-dimensionality.

And good on Strikeforce for having almost all of their fights have actual endings, and only one go to a split decision.

Also, Tyron Woodley should be tested for wolverine DNA immediately by the KSAC. No fighter at 170 should look that savage in the cage…
    ;)

Hafta give it to Nick Nolte, fightin at his age ;)

  • Craig says:

“Vera is right for this promotion. She strikes…and she strikes with force. Don’t you agree professor.”
I changed the channel at that point. Commentary like this makes me appriciate the good job done by Goldie and Rogan. It is too bad these guys are so bad because the fights were good if the tv was muted. Is there anyone else that strikeforce could get to replace these guys?

  • Dr.Doom says:

sometimes — and it’s in my opinion ,maybe its just me—- but one of the announcers seems to be a bit jolly from the drink and it effects his speech .

  • Andrew says:

Hey I was joking and yes it was stupid.

  • NicKageB says:

“Woodley Submits Bears” :) LOL this is killin me. I am such a dork.
