Nice bump for Thiago and especially for the newcomer Volkmann…

  • Justin H says:

Good news for these guys, for sure. I wonder if they’ve got some sponsors beating down their doors to get on their shorts Saturday night now.

    • jcohl says:

Although sponsors like Clinch Gear and RVCA can forget about getting their shorts, or anything else for that matter, on any UFC Saturday night for the foreseeable future…

      • fr702 says:

RVCA, is still a rumor….. I’ve stated that the fact that RVCA is the largest BJ Penn sponsor + Vitor Belfort’s #1 sponsor I’m not quite sure that the UFC brass will “ban” them and well with Clinch Gear it is just a business power play v Hendo, the quickest way to get a mans attention (in the business world) is to take money out of his wallet and that is the move that UFC has decided to go with, not the first time we have seen this move nor will it be the last, people are creatures of habit, right or wrong this is a business play that works alot of the time…..

      • Justin H says:

I’m really hoping that Hendo will re-sign with the UFC (and ClinchGear can get back in their as well), and also hoping that RVCA being banned is only a rumor.

I actually like some of the RVCA stuff, I like the Belfort shirt, and the Fedor shirt, and honestly they are not an “MMA apparel” company, they were/are a skate/surf apparel company that liked our sport and decided to sponsor some fighters with some quality, non over the top, non skull laden shirts. They made a good move to be on Fedor’s shirt for his network TV debut, and I don’t want to see them punished because M-1 are full of the stuff that was dumping into Brock Lesnars abdominal cavity through the hole in his intestines.

      • fr702 says:

I agree I like RVCA’s MMA stuff, Fedor’s in the Red I dig, Penn’s UFC 101 shirt was awesome and Belfort’s green and yellow shirt is nice too, I hope that they don’t decide to “ban” RVCA

Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

  • JOEY D says:

how many fight will it take to see Brock Larson at least on the aired pre lims this guy was a top contender in the wec but cant draw a good fight here yet

    • fr702 says:

I too like Larson but he is coming off of a loss from about 2 months ago and is 3~2 in the UFC, even tho he did go 4~1 in the WEC and is game for any fight anytime I think he is a “good” fight or two from hitting the main card, if there are quick finishes on Saturday perhaps we will see his fight, hope he grabs the W actually..

  • Oldman420 says:

Paulo is actually a pretty entertaining figher to watch and I can’t help that this gives him an extra advantage. We have seen it many time before where new comers like Volkmann are shell shocked by the big lights of the UFC and now he has the pressures of not only perfoming infront of a packed mandalay bay center but a international ppv audience.
