Interestingly enough, the Brazilian Correia was not the unanimous, hometown favorite at the festivities, as the bantamweight received some boos and cheers before weighing in at 134. The same thing transpired for the champion Rousey, who came in at 135. As expected, the two engaged in a fiery face-off after making weight, and once again, Correia had plenty to say to “Rowdy”.
For the co-headliner, light-heavyweights “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira both came in at 206 for their bout, which is a rematch of their classic, 2005 encounter. Rua won that fight by unanimous decision.
The only fighter who didn’t make weight on their first attempt was Clint Hester, who was 186.7 for his bout with Vitor Miranda. He has one hour to shed the extra weight.
Here are weigh-in results for UFC 190, which will take place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Can Correia pull off the massive upset? We’ll find out soon enough.
