Update: St-Pierre and Hardy “Not Under Consideration” For TUF 11 Coaching Gigs
UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre and top contender Dan Hardy are “not under consideration” to be coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 11, according to Heavy.com.
Yesterday, The Telegraph reported that St-Pierre and Hardy could appear as coaches on the reality series, likely delaying a matchup between the pair from February or March until mid-2010.
The Ultimate Fighter 11, which will feature middleweight and light heavyweight fighters, will begin filming early next year for an expected April debut and will conclude with a live finale in July.

Good.
Id still rather see Franklin vs Liddell or Franklin vs Forrest/Tito winner, as the coaches. I think im pushin it a bit though.
Whew
ok what if they assigned 2 coaches per team of fighters that could make the time and are not necessarily pushed to much so often by fans?
2 vs 2 might be more fun than 1 vs 1…. say, for instance of the top of my head… Chuck Liddell and Gabriel Gonzaga vs Rich Franklin and Kenny Florian.. just tossing it out there…
whos gonzaga going to fight?? florian…….. lol
oh maybe i should have added i dont really care to see the coaches fight each other… im more interested in their veteran perspectives and leadership…
Thank goodness.
Amen…
Tito and Rashad would be cool too if Tito can get past Forrest.
No thankyou, Jacob has been having a difficult time talking in front of a camera as of late, he said last night “that when people think of the UFC, they think of ME I’m a legand”,,,, Uh no…. Then during the UFC 105 interview he stated- that this (the Forrest Griffin UFC 106 fight) is one of the biggest fights of the year for him…., Uh no Jacob its your only fight this year :D
Honestly the rematch wouldn’t be too bad of an idea especially if Shad wins and Jacob wins @ 106 it would fast track both to a title shot, but I don’t want to hear Ortiz talk, eva, hearing him speak for 6 weeks would be too much for me…
But it would give Ortiz the lime light that he desires and an opportunity to “mold the youth” or some damn thing, I dunno it could work, its just not for me
Jacob = Tito it is his real name sorry about the confusion
FR702
And if Rashad gets past Silva.
{Sorry} Let me clear it up,,,, If Jacob wins @ 106, and Shad beats Thiago then perhaps Ortiz v Evans II to work towards a bout with either Rua or a rematch (respectivly) with Machida, hence a fast track…. Another issue is if Cane beats LiL Nog where do you put him in the title hunt, just putting it out there not trying to hijack the thread
yay The Greatness won’t be a coach on TUF, that is good news
Jacob = Tito, its his real name sorry about the confusion
FR702
Let’s play “Name the TUF 11 coaches”.You guys started with those two, so I’ll post both of those and my guess. Somebody keep it going.
Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin
Tito/Forrest vs. Rashad
Vitor vs. Marquardt
or…..how about
Baroni vs. Matt Hughes!!! HAhahahahh
or….Velasquez vs. Lesnar (if he’s well)
wait who’s jacob? tito?
I like the 2 on 2 idea
Jacob “Tito” Ortiz, Jacob is his “real” name sorry it is a bad habit of mine…
Oh ok. Thanks.
Jacob? Would have never know :D
Although that’s a good rematch i’m not sure “sugar” would even want to coach tuf again.
What if they do machida and shogun as coaches? That would be sick! But the whole team would have to be brazilian or they would have to stuck to their interperters. So nevermind
that would be the worst season of all
Watch the personal attacks,

van the man,
hey new guy, personal attacks are not welcome here at Frenzy dude.
van the man,
Shogun and Machida would be awesome coaches because both guys have very unique styles that are not common at all in MMA right now so i’m sure that anyone would greatly benefit from them as Coaches.
MK4 you crack me up dude thanks for the back but but i’m not really paying attention to what van “the man” says. Obviously a noob.
yea, obviously a noob…u @#$%% would want to see two brazilian wussies as coaches, and watch the ratings sink. dip$$^&.
fight your own fights, crybaby.
Good news as before it was “under consideration” (according to one newspaper source) I had a feeling they would try and set it up from lack of good fights to build off of it.
To be honest, another season of comebacks with recent UFC cuts would have played well this time around as they clearly don’t have any prospects that make sense to coach the next season. We’ll see what happens.
Well, Nick Thompson and Bobby Southworth are among the rumored participants.
Me personally I would like to see a redo of season one and have Chuck and Randy coach. Not that rematch between those two would need more hype but it would give the illusion of the fight being relevant.
dude stop saying jacob and ortiz in the same comment y not just say ortiz flipping annoying man
my bad Bones
It could be Renzo vs. Matt
-Shogun-Machida
-Anderson-Belfort
-Marquardt-Sonnen
-Wanderlei-Sexyama
-Huerta-Sanchez
-Cro-cop-
: These would be sick choices for TUF Coaches
The problem with coaching match-ups like Shogun-Machida, Anderson Silva-Belfort, and Wand-Akiyama is the language barrier.
In terms of pure coaching, and MMA, these match-ups would be key, but we’re talking about a reality competition TV series here, and I think a certain amount of dialogue is going to be required.
As far as I know, the above 6 fighters have only a passing familiarity with the English language.
And while Marquardt and Sonnen might make for a good mix in the cage, I’m thinking that both of these guys will play on SpikeTV as survivors of charisma bypass surgery, if you follow…
;)
I follow ;)
Imho this good news, but I think if had happened (and still might) it could have been a possible push that Dana mite have been entertaining the idea of a Canadian ppv. Sup’n to think about.
If Sanchez and Penn wasn’t already slated I think they would have made for an iteresting season. Both love to talk sh!t and brag on themselves.
lol all gud fr702….i glad to see them fighting earlier but it would hav made a pretty good season with these two as coaches dan hardy will talk some much it will be entertaning and gsp will be modest and humble and want talk untill he beats him in the cage..i reckon if tito beats forrest why not randy and tito ill see that again
Liddell – Ortiz as coaches
the winner of the fight afterwards gets to rematch rashad haha
I do think that if Dana White is looking to turn Dan Hardy into the UK’s next MMA superstar, he should have opted for the slow burn, rather than rushing him into a title fight with the Greatness, wherein he’s going to get wrestled into oblivion.
Dana could have and should have killed 2 birds with one stone, by having Dan Hardy and Jon Fitch coach the next season of TUF, and then have them throwdown at the following PPV for a title shot at GSP.
This way, if Hardy wins, no one can say that he was fast-tracked, or didn’t “pay his dues” or “earn his shot”.
This also makes the UK fans happy, as they have another TUF coach with an open mic and a camera with the red light on to talk some sh!t about Fitch if he’s so inclined, and makes Dana happy because he’s got Hardy promoting whatever PPV he’d be facing Fitch at.
The one problem here is that quiet, low key Fitch would in all likelihood beat Hardy badly either by ref stoppage or submission, and thereby temporarily end his 170 title “excellent adventure”…
now that makes a senseable idea…
get rid of the whole “title fight” for TUF and make it more of a title shot kind of dealio…
but i dont htink fitch is the right candidate…
in this current time of growth for the UFC they need to get coaches from Canada, the UK, or Brazil… put the language barrier aside… they did for usa vs uk they had subtitles and everything… and by the end of the season you didnt need the subtitles…
id personally like to see a Canada vs Brazil season it would make things interesting and grow the ufc globaly that much faster…
i know of a guy who is now down in california training but he is canadian, and he would walk through alot of guys that have been on tuf in hte past… he was at a strikefarce try out and they offered him 5000 per fight with a 4 fight deal on the spot… he rejected it… myself and a few others are trying to get him to try out for TUF or the UFC… one day hopefully… lol
but ya Canada Vs Brazil is my vote for a future TUF
I’ve gone on record many times here at the frenZy of being in favor of another “nation vs. nation” TUF, with countries where MMA is huge like the UK, Japan, Canada, and of course Brazil being featured at various weightclasses…
yeah that sounds good…what bout usa vs the world with guys frm like japan, brazil, uk, canada etc wuld b intersting

imma jus throw one out there which i wouldnt think would be bad why not have carwin and velasquez coach then they can fight and winner will fight lesnar as were all waiting to see how long he is out
Comeback season with the winners getting title shots at 185 and 170
I hope to change it up..
Cro-cop vs Brandon Vera (back at HW –> seems to lose power at LHW)
or Brandon Vera vs Wanderlei silva
