TUF 17 Finalist Uriah Hall his next opponent, and it’s well traveled vet and former welterweight contender, Joe Riggs.
The UFC has announced that Riggs will battle Hall in a middleweight scrap at UFC Fight Night 73, which will go down on August 23rd. The card will be hosted by the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Hall (10-5) is hoping to return to the win column, as the feared striker is coming off a very tightly contested, split decision loss to Rafael Natal in May. Hall had defeated Chris Leben, Thiago Santos and Ron Stallings in consecutive bouts leading up to the defeat.
Riggs (40-16) could be in a must win situation, as “Diesel” has dropped back-to-back bouts since he returned to the promotion last year. Riggs incurred a neck injury and could not continue against Ben Saunders in December, and then in April, he was decisioned by Patrick Cote.
UFC FN 74 will see Glover Teixeira take on fellow light-heavyweight contender Ovince Saint Preux in the main event.
