As soon as Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock was announced, most people understood that the bout would deliver big ratings for Bellator, and that’s certainly turned out to be the case.

Yes, despite¬†the fact¬†purists and hardcore fans scoffed at the fight when it was booked, Bellator has announced that Slice-Shamrock peaked at 2.1 million viewers. That makes it the most watched Bellator fight ever on Spike, and one of the year’s most viewed scraps period (UFC or not).

Friday’s Bellator 138 card drew an average of 1.6 million viewers, which is obviously, pretty, prety good for the promotion. The card also saw featherweight champ Patricio “Pitbull” come from behind and KO Daniel Weichel.

Prior to June 19th, the most watched Bellator fight had been Tito Ortiz vs. Stephan Bonnar last November, which drew 1.8 million viewers.

Bellator 138 went down at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
