Jessica Penne had a very, very rough night at UFC Fight Night 69, but at least the strawweight contender is heading home with an extra $50,00 in bonus money.
As you either saw, or have heard, Penne was badly bloodied and beaten by Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the card’s headliner. Penne showed a ton of heart by fighting on and making it into round three, but eventually the one sided fight was halted. After the card, the UFC announced that both Penne and the champ had earned “Fight of the Night” honors and an extra $50K each.
According to the UFC’s post-fight tweet announcing the bonuses, the “Performance of the Night” awards went to Makwan Amirkhani and Arnold Allen. The two recorded impressive submission wins over Masio Fullen and Allan Omer respectively.
Several outlets, however, are reporting that Mairbek Taisumov was handed a “POTN” for his TKO win over Alan Patrick. Those reports, however, do not mention Amirkhani receiving an award…
UFC FN 69 went down in Berlin, Germany, at the O2 World Arena.
