UFC Fight Night 11: Leben In His “Best Shape” Ever

Posted by Kris Karkoski on Sep 6, 2007 at 10:57 am ET6 Comments

Chris Leben recently updated fans on his preparations for his UFC Fight Night 11 bout against Terry Martin on September 19th. Here’s what he had to say:

“Things are super good with me. I’ve been busy teaching at ICON as well as training for my upcoming fight and I’m feeling great. My diet and training routine have been the strictest ever and as a result I think I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in.

Hawaii is awesome and I’m taking in all it has to offer as well as using the landscape to train on top of my usual regiment. I’ve been doing tons of running – often while carrying boulders, high altitude training as well as my some boogey boarding and swimming too!”

This is a good match up.  People aren't giving Leben too much of a chance, but he he has a solid chance of pulling off a victory against Martin.

  • Billy Gamble says:

I heard Chris Lebens next fighter Terry Martin was having trouble with Police in Chicago. I dont think he is in jail but he is suing the city now for false arrest.

  • mikey says:

The last time I heard this from a fighter was when Tito was getting ready for Evans, and I think everyone agrees his performance was less than spectacular, and he seemed gassed before the second round was over.  Leben hasn't looked good since before Silva, but I hope to see the old Leben back ready to bang and put on a great performance, but I'm not getting my hopes up.  I wouldn't be suprised if he is completely dominated by Martin.

  • SCOTCHYDOW says:

I don't understand why Leben is so popular. I think his hand game is REALLY sloppy, and he has ZERO ground game. I hope Martin KTFer out.

  • millam3 says:

This guy being in the UFC is a PRIME example of the UFC being so stubborn to not sign the real talent that is out there. To keep the fighters that they 'gave birth to'. I can hear it now.. "****, why sign Soko and Arona when we got Leben!?!?" ..just to save money per event and with high hopes that the UFC will just keep raking in more and more profit.

  • Jamie Mol says:

leben's still gonna ket knocked out!!!!
