There are several, compelling bouts booked for UFC 188 tonight, and one of them is the flyweight scrap between Henry Cejudo and Chico Camus.

If you’re a big fan, then you know that Cejudo has a ton of buzz behind him these days. After all, Cejudo won the Gold Medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and more recently, he’s gone 8-o in MMA. Cejudo had some issues making 125 after signing with the UFC, sure, but since then, he’s decisioned bantamweight Dustin Kimura, and more recently he earned a UD victory over flyweight contender, Chris Cariaso.

Well, Cejudo is scheduled to fight an experienced and rugged fighter in Camus, and if he scores another big win, there’s going to be a lot more people talking about his title shot prospects. People are already. Case in point, while speaking to MMA Junkie.com Radio recently, here is some of what Cejudo had to say about the subject (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I think it’ll be about timing,” Cejudo said, while discussing the possibility of securing a title shot. “I feel ready now, but obviously I have a team behind me, and we make a decision together. It’s not just me, myself and I. It’s my team that comes together, and we make the best decision possible.

“We not only can win the belt, but win it decisively – with dominance.”

Clearly Cejudo isn’t short on confidence, but considering what he’s accomplished in his athletics career, that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Perhaps what’s been most impressive about “The Messenger” in his UFC bouts to date, is the stand-up skills he’s showcased. Cejudo is far, far more than just a world class wrestler, and that’s why observers are so curious to see how far he can go in the UFC”s 125 division. Particularly since the champ, Demetrious Johnson, has already defeated several of the division’s top contenders.

Cejudo is currently ranked #7 in the UFC’s flyweight division and Camus is sitting at #13.

UFC 188 will be hosted by the Mexico City Arena.
