Conor McGregor is a self admitted fan of Jon Jones, but “Notorious” is questioning some of the decisions the now former champ has apparently made.
Not long ago, Jones stood a top of the UFC’s light-heavyweight division, but following his arrest for a felony charge of hit-and-run, it remains to be seen what his future holds. Well, as McGregor continues to prepare for his July 11th bout with featherweight champ Jose Aldo, he recently spoke to FOX Sports.com.
While doing so, the 17-2 fighter had this to say about Jones and the latter’s ongoing situation:
“I’ve met Jon many times. I love Jon, he’s a great man, he’s a great fighter, but his decisions and his choices? I don’t understand how, you’ve got millions in the bank, how can you be out in this little desert town in Albuquerque in a little rental Buick?”
“I just try to understand the situation. I can’t understand it. Get a driver! If I go out now I’m driven a f—-ing limo. You’ve got money,” McGregor said. “It’s just a weird situation and I wish him well and I hope he gets his head together and comes back…”
McGregor isn’t the first person to make comments like this, although, his statements about Jones’ rental are somewhat unique…and on point no? It’s certainly going to be a huge deal, if and when Jones returns.
In terms of “Notorious”, he’s made headline after headline since he’s joined the UFC, but the brash fighter’s stardom doesn’t appear to be distracting him from the task at hand…
Aldo-McGregor and UFC 189 will go down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
