UFC 78: Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt
Joe Lauzon will face Jason Reinhardt in November at UFC 78 in New Jersey. From The Fight Network:
The day that Joe Lauzon can call himself a full-fledged professional fighter has finally arrived. This Friday, the 23-year-old Bridgewater, Mass. native cuts the shackles of his nine-to-fiver as an IT network administrator at a Cambridge-based software development company. Lauzon will then set sail for Hilo, Hawaii to begin a two-and-a-half month training camp with former UFC welterweight champion B.J. Penn. The Team Aggression/Bishop Boxing representative will seek the guidance of the pound-for-pound favorite for his Nov. 17 lightweight match-up against Jason Reinhardt at UFC 78 in Newark, N.J.
Reinhardt has an undefeated 18-0 MMA record last winning defeating Theodore Reynol by TKO at Courage Fighting Championships 8. Initially he was to make his UFC debut against Roger Huerta at UFC 63 but was forced withdraw from the bout due to injury.
Lauzon appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 5 and has 2 UFC appearances under his belt defeating Jens Pulver and Brandon Melendez.

Seems like an interesting match-up, but I gotta go with Lauzon on this one. I would love to see him fight Pulver again, but if that fight did happen; I think Lauzon would be the one that gets KTFO this time around.
Has anybody seen a picture of Jason Reinhardt? The guy looks like a Sean Sherk at 155. It looks like there is no way he can be in Lauzon's weight class.
Reinhardt is explosive and a crazy mofo
Reinhardt does look scary. I am interested to see how he performs against Lauzon. Hopefully this fight is on the main card and not the undercard.
WOW! This doesn't look like a fight that would say Dana is "protecting" the TUF fighters.
After watching Joe Lauzon on Ultimate Fighter 5 he is one that shone the most for me, and he is definitely one fighter that will be around for some time to come, I expect great things from this guy who looks like the kid next door. As for another fight with Jens Pulver, it will never happen as Jens is in my opinion coming to the end of his career and has not had his contract renewed with the UFC, also he is plagued by injury.
Looks to be a great fight.
Nice work Dana, this should be a WAR!
Reinhardt is an absolute beast. I heard he once got busy in a Burger King bathroom. He’s crazy, allow him to amaze thee.
I met Reinhardt at a benefit for young boys born with three testicles. He was and probably still an inspiration for all of us and we should be excited for his opportunity to destroy Jim Lauzon at UFC 80. I expect it to be a total and complete stand up war staying on their feet for all 5 rounds. Jason will dominate the first 3 rounds and then will gas for the last three but will probably pull off some slick heel lock since he trains with BJ Penn and he has had lunch with Jens Pulver on more than one accassion.
Dean-You are probably right on with your description of how “potential fight of the year” will turn out. I disagree though because I think Lauzon will knock Reinhardt out in the first round and Lauzon will lose by taint lock in round three. Reinhardt has been training in song Duk Lo for years and has a sick ‘Over the Shoulder Boulder Holder.” Expect to see it in the first 30 seconds of the fight.
Dean Gulberry is on point, Reinhardt is a Beast, the other stuff was fun to read. Fight of the night.
Reinhardt is a beast! That is a fact. I am hoping Jason goes in with no injuries. If he is 100%…..goodnight Joe. Reinhardt for a little guy hits like a mule.
When is this fight? Lauzon’s website says UFC 78 but UFC doesn’t show it on the fight card.
