this guy is definitly making changes for the better and not only that but now chael sonnen is a top 5 mdw!…..this is really good for him id like to see him rematch maia …..and if chael keeps fighting this way he could be the perfect guy to take the title at mdw
Sonnen is peaking just at the right time, providing he can continue to manage his reportedly 25+ pound weight cuts.
Anderson Silva by his own admission is sort of winding down his UFC career, and once he’s gone it will open 185 up to all sorts of great match-ups and contention possibilities.
Also with Hendo currently on the outside looking in, Sonnen is probably one of the best wrestlers at 185, and I’m not sure some of the other 185 contenders, Marquardt notwithstanding, match-up all that well with a guy that was an Olympic alternate, a former NCAA Division 1 All-American, and if memory serves a former national champion…
i’d put him up against Nate “Rock” Quarry. I think Sonnen is gonna be awhile till he gets his share at the 185 title. I think him against Nate on a free Spike card would be really good for bringing his value up. imo
Easily the best/most surprising performance of the night. Okami’s greatest strength is his wrestling and Sonnen dominated him in that aspect. It’s funny that most of the talk has been about the main event when this is easily the biggest WOW moment on the card. Now if he can just fix his submission defense he could make a run.
Hard to argue, I hated watchin this guy fight before but now im curious to see his next fight

This was definitely the Chael Sonnen I wanted to see.
