think that Cain Velasquez and Ben Rothwell might be the Darkhorse to steal fight of the night. They are both eager to beat up one another and both are looking for not just a win but an impressive win so look for that fight t be a contender for fight of the night. Although Ben Rothwell has waayy more experience than Cain Velasquez, Cain just beat up Cheick Kongo which i know some people might consider to be overrated but he was the potential #1 Contender and he’s also no slouch. Ben Rothwell feels that he’s paid his dues and deserves to be in the mix at Heavyweight but Cain Velasquez is i think ahead of his own game, he’s growing very fast and already has a lot of knowledge and i think that he’s more confident now that he beat someone like Kong and will come into this fight a lot better than he did against Kongo. Ben Rothwell also has fought great opponents but i think that he’s kinda under-estimating Velasquez because of his lack of experience and that might not be a smart thing to do. Cain’s ground game is super sick but i do think that Cain’s stand-up is lacking a bit and that’s where Rothwell needs to take advantage, i know Rothwell has a wrestling backround but to be honest i havn’t seen it that much because the dude likes to strike but either way Velasquez’s wrestling is first class so Rothwell had better not take him lightly there either. If Rothwell cannot avoid the takedown he’ll get done like Kongo did but if he keeps the fight stanfing he’ll have a good shot at scoring a tko because Cain has shown he can get rocked but don’t be surpirsed if Rothwell can also inflict damage on the ground as well, tough one to call:
Velasquez via tko or decision
I’ve already exausted my stance for Shogun winning the title so i’ll just keep it short,
Machida is a killer on the stand-up but like his boy Anderson Silva, although they have BJJ Black belts they still IMO havn’t shown that they are invincible there especially A.Silva. Shogun is not stupid and he problably knows that he also has a chance to win on the ground because whetehr people like it or not Tito Ortiz was able to lock in a Triangle then a arm-bar so Machida is capable of getting caught in subs if he gets careless. I think that Shogun has enough patience and overall skill to defeat Machida standing but he’ll have to really be focued which Machida always is. To repeat what i said before i think Shogun will be victorious.
Shogun via tko or ko
Mauricio Rua vs. Lyoto Machida- Shogun via tko
Cain Velasquez vs. Ben Rothwell- Velasquez vua decision or tko
Josh Neer vs. Geison Tibau- Tibau via sub or decision
Spencer Fisher vs. Joe Stevenson-Fisher via tko or decision
Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiuki Yoshida- Rumble via tko or ko
Patrick Barry vs Antoni Hardonk-Hardonk via tko or ko
Kimmons vs. Rivera- Rivera via tko
Bader vs Scahfer- Schahfer via sub
Fioght of the night: Machida-Shogun
Ko of thr night- Rumble Johnso
Sub of the night- Schahfer
I think Kongo exposed Cain’s chin, even if for just a second. I see Big Ben by knockout, round one. I think he’ll catch him.
It’s a very interesting clash of styles. Two very exciting fighters and they are both extremely hungry with tons to prove.
Hard to say which Uni-Brow will end up victorious, I’ll give the slight edge to Machida, his Uni-Brow looks thicker and meaner.
Ooooooh im sooo f***in pumped for this saturday….i get anxious before Machida and Spider fights…. i go through the preparations with them….WAR Machida
the Dragon vs the Shogun = the Dragon by way of dismantlement
Anthony Johnson missing weight by 5lbs is rather sad. But the fight will go on. 20% fine of purse earnings.
This is the real begining of the Dragon era………
